Queen of my Craft Rpm Chalenge for Jan 24th

Good Morning Everyone,

Well, I am up bright and early this morning to share a new project with you and to get a jump on the days work. I have a 4 day craft show coming up tomorrow morning and my weeki s just jammed with things to do, with tomorrow being the busiest of the 4 upcoming days. Not only am I doing a show starting tomorrow, but taking my dear friend to the dentist and then picking her up afterwards. She is such a sweet friend so it is no bother to me to do this. I just love her so, she is going with me to set up for the show then off to the dentist we go. I will return to the show by 9:30, then when the dentist calls I will go and pick her up to take her home. Then return to the show. Wednesday I am taking her 12 year old daughter with me (my Goddaughter, Destiny9, and she will get to help ME and then we will go to lunch. The show is from 10-2 daily. Should be a fun time.

Any way let´s get onto the card I am sharing with you today. As you all know I am on the Design Team for Queen of My Craft Room and the challenge this week is to make a card using only stamps. Well, let me tell you that is a challenge as I use my Cricut for just about every card I create so I did some brain wracking and designed this valentine card. I love to make easel cards and why I don´t make more I don´t know but this card today is an easel card and I think it turned out so pretty. My card base is cream colored cardstock then I layered a pink/red tone on top of the front and bottom part of the card. I stamped a heart using a sstamp I have had forever and heat embossed it with gold embossing powder on a piece of scrap patterened paper and attached that to the front of the card along with a work stamp "Love" which i also stamped in versmark ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. On my base I placed a lovely gold and pearl button that I cut off the shank and used a large glue dot to apply. These buttons were a steal at Michaels and I have had them for over the last 5 years since before I moved to Mexico. I then stamped "Happy Valentines Day" with versamark ink and again heat embossed it using gold embossing powder. The "Happy Valentines Day" is a stamp I used from Flourish stamps and I have had that for many years also. I love making easel cards as they are so different and are meant to sit out on a table and be looked at. Snowman card

Good Evening My Dear Friends,

The card I am featuring today is for Queen of My Craft Room. The Design Team was challenged to make a winter card with a snowman on it. Well, my litle card has 3 cute little stamped snowmen on it and they are colored using my Prisma Markers and mounted on the bottom in the lower right hand corner with some foam tape. In the lower left hand corner there is a poinsetta flower (I tried) made from Crystals I bought in Michaels in Guadalarjara. Believe me this Michaels store is nothing like in the States, They have beads, crystals, artifical flowers and ribbon. They have styrofoam and some wood things downstaires. Believe me when I say I truly miss Michaels and JoAnns in the States. The snowflake paper that I used as the background on the card I have had for approx 6 years. Probably about time I used it huh?

Well I guess it is my turn to need medical attention now. Last year it was my husband with prostate cancer and other problems, this year it is me. My kidneys are losing their functioning power and so I go once a week to the Dr's for IV iinfusion. He is trying to hold off on starting me on Peritoneal Dialysis. Had to cancel my plans to go to the States to see my girls and grandkids for my big 60 in August as we don't know when things will happen. I was so looking forward to seeing them and spending some time in the craft stores. But, God knows what he s doing and He is in control. My life has never been my own so I am fine with whatever God has in store for me, I know He is with me all the way. Well I have rambled on long enough. Happy New Years's Everyone,

I hope you have all had a wonderful Christmas and are all ready for the New Year. I have recently become involved with another Design Team, "Queen of my Craft Room". Super nice team members, we will be posting weekly projects so please come along and see what these wonderful talented ladies have to show you all. Our post for New Year's Day is any project you would like to share. With Valentine's day coming around the corner, I have been working all ready on valentine cards so I thought I would share one with you. I hope to be able to post every other day if not every day. I love you all so much and I am so blessed to have all you wonderful followers. Have a wonderful New Year and may God bless you all beyond what you can even imagine!

Here is one of my valentine cards. You all knw I like clean and simple cards and this one is no exception. I have cream cardstock for my base, added a layer of multi pink paper. I punched my bottom pink paper with my heart border punch from Martha Stewart. I then cut my heart ballons out with my Cricut using the Sweet Heart cartridge. The hearts are cut in various sizes. I then embossed the hearts using my Cuttlebug the embossing folders I used were swirls and swiss dots. The hearts are then layered with mounting tape. Added a little heart sticker in the left hand corner, rounded the edges and there you have it. I will be sharing more valentine cards with you in the near future. Here comes Santa

Good afternoon,

Just thought I would take a quick moment to share this Santa's seigh card with you all. This card is a standard A2 sized card with a white base for the cardstock. I then took some cream/tan colored paper and ran it through my Cuttlebug embossing folder I believe is Cassie's Brocade. It gives the paper a bit of antique look. I cut the sleigh at 3"using my Cricut and the Christ Noel cartridge, I then added a bit of gold stickles to the sleigh's runner. I had some very fine red ribbon that was given to me by a dear friend so I wrapped that aroud and tied a knot That completes this simple but elegant looking card.

I will share a little secret with you. When I lived in PA and in NY we almost always had a white winter. Now you all know I am a bit too old to believe in Santa, but every Christmas morning I would check out to see if I could see foot prints or deer prints in the snow. I know, totally silly but I did it anyway. I guess I will always be that little girl at heart. I still believe in Miracles and I always will, although now I beleive in the Miracles send from God. God is real and still to this very day will answer our prayers, my broher-in-law- is proof of that. May you all have a great day. Hug someone close and share a kiss or two with the ones you love. Gold Swirl tree

Good Evening all my friends,

I have decided that I had better post or you would all think I have gotten taken down by the Christmas rush monster! No such luck, our Christmas is usually nice and quiet and we do not exchange presents with each other. Have not done so since moving here to Mexico. I do so love to give presents though and will still give my best friend, Stasia's children some gifts and our God daughter Ale from the shelter a gift. Won't be much but God knows our hearts and any gift is simply very small when you look at what a precious gift God gave to us, His son.

I get all melencoly this time of year and cry easily as I miss my childen and grandchildren. It seems so much harder this time of year although I didn't see them all at Christmas when I lived in the States. I have Stasia's little ones's that I fuss over now, and I so enjoy them!

For all of you who prayed for my brother-in-law, Ken, I am happy to say he is now out of the hospital and recuperating at home. Very weak yet and as my youngest daughter told me looks older, but after having 5 by-passes I would think anyone would look older. I do so appreciate all your thoughts and prayers for Ken.

On to the card for today. This card is made by cutting my white cardstock to an A2 size of 51/2X81/2, then fold it in half. I used my cuddlebug and the embossing folder of the swirl border to emboss the swirl on the red paper. This paper I bought in the paper district in Guadalarjara and I love the rich red color. I then cut out the gold swirl tree using my cricut and the Christmas Noel cartridge. The tree is approx 3" in height/ I then used the Season's Greetings stamp from KinderstampO's vintage and traditional holiday stamp set. I stamped Season's Greetings on the front of the card under the tree. I used another of her sentiments from this set on the inside and it say's Spread some Holiday Cheer. The ink is Black Tuxcedo from Mementos Ink. I think that this is a very elegant looking card and so easy to do. So hope you enjoy it.

We were blessed by some dear friends last year with some money to buy a heating stove as we have no heat or air-conditioning here in this part of Mexico and we got the stove with the propane tank today and the house is so nice and toasty. It feels so good to feel warm and I thank God for that privilege. So many of the people who live here do not have even enough blankets to keep them warm at night and my heart goes out to them. I had the honor and privilege to go with my dear friend Stasia and a lovely angel last thursday to help shop for 2 needy families. This dear angel blessed 9 children with nice warm clothes, shoes and blankets. The day was topped off with pizza and ice cream. These children were so happy and the mom's were so filled with joy that they just cried that someone who they didn't know would care so much for them. Really my dear friends, isn't that the true meaning and spirit of Christmas? Showing and spreading God's love no matter how big or how small to those around us? You may not have money but a kind word or a prayer to or for someone means so much. I know when I was working as a nurse if someone told me thank you it filled my heart with joy. Let it Snow

Good morning,

It sure is a beautiful sunny day here in Mexico! Sure do love the weather here. I remmeber when I lived up North, NY State, that I loved Christmas shopping when it was snowing, and I love fresh snow on the ground on Christmas Day. After that it could all melt and go away as far as I was conserned. Well Ihaven't seen snow in over 14 years and that is sure fine with me. I do not like being cold so sun and warm temperatures are good to go. I do miss the changing of the leaves as the fall colors and smells are my favorite things.

The card I am showing today was made with a white cardstock base. I then layered blue embossed cardstock on top. I used my Cuttlebug for the embossing. The snowflake is cut from gold metalic paper and I used my Cricut and I believe the cartridge was Christmas Noel. Very simple and easy but also very classic.

I use to collect snowmen when I lived up North and in Florida, but before we moved here someone when into our attic in our garage and stole our Christmas things, including most of my snowmen collection. Oh well, God works all out for our good as our home here in Mexico s much smaller and I don't even have the room for the things I have LOL.

Penguin Christmas

Happy Sunday Evening,

I decided to post a quick little note witha card I made a couple of days ago. I have been spending tons of time in the studio as my husband told my friend who called today "She is in her studio where she always is" Think I am spending too much time there? I have just been trying to catch up and make inventory ahead of time. I found out recently that there is no store in our area where you can buy English cards, so hopefully that will be in my favor.

This litle penguin card is done with a white cardstock base which I embossed using a Christmas theme, with my Cuttlebug. The penguin is cut at 3" using my Cricut Cartridge Creat A Critter. I added some twine and there you go. easy and cute!

Feliz Cumpleanos

Good Afternoon and Happy SAturday my dear freinds,

I thought I would show you a quick and easy birthday card I made a few minutes ago. Due to the colored background on this cardstock it was so easy to create a really nice card. I embossed the front of the card with my flowers embossing folder and my Cuttlebug. I then stamped Feliz Cumpleanos using my Everyday Spanish Stamps from KinderstampO. I added a few I rock embelishments in the lower left hand corner, then some pink Crystal butterflies I found in Michaels in Guadulajara (believe me it is nothing like the Michaels in the States) and some twine that I bought at the hardware store. The twine was white and I wrapped it around a ruller and took a pink marker and made random stripes along the twine then unwrapped it and this is the result. The longer I love here the more I learn about making do with what I have been blessed to have. I have to say that the colored twine was not an original idea of mine to make I found it on U-Tube. Pretty fun though.

I will be sharing more cards with you in the upcoming days as I work to get things done for the shows I am doing in December. Also I would appreciate your thoughts and prayers for my former Brother -in-Law, Ken. He suffered a major heart attack yesterday and is in Erie at Hamot Hospital in a drug induced coma and on ice to lower his body's functions as he has 90% blockage in all major arteries. Ken is a young guy of I believe 53 yrs of age and has a sweet wife. Although I am no longer married to his brother, they are still considered family to me.

May God bring them peace and mercy at this time and His healing touch to Ken.

Christms card, the Dove of Peace

Good Afternoon My Dear Peeps,

Just thought I would share one of the many Christmas cards I am making these days. Not sure if I told any of you but I went to the paper district in Guadalarjara on Monday with my friend Stasia and we shopped until my feet almost dropped off. Had a great time and bought a ton of paper. The card I am featuring today is showing off some of the paper I bought.

The card base is a multi tone gray/lavendar on white paper. To that I added the calling bird from my Joys of the Season Cricut cartride cut at 2". My cutting speed was slow and my blade was at 6 and also on Max as this gold paper is quite thick. I added some lovely purple and white baker's twine as an added accent. I love to use different colors during the holiday season. I also used my Score Buddy and scored approx 1/4 " around the card. The Peace on Earth Sentiment comes from KinderstampO's line of vintage and holiday stamps. You should check her stamps out. Lots of sentiments at a very reasonable price. I just love how they stamp so nice and clean. Also for awesome baker's twine, head on over to the Twinery at http://www.thetwinery.com. They have some absolutely beautiful colored twine for every occassion. I love using Twine and actually prefere it to using my signature ribbon. I have also applied for a Design Team position with the Twinery, sure hope I get it.

One Call Away by Brenda Warner- a Book Review

Good Evening All My Dear Friends,

Well it is time for another Book Review for Book Sneeze. I read this book with some speculation I must admit. You see my husband is a big footbal fan and really admires Kurt Warner for his faith and stong convictions concerning God in his life. Because of that I decided I would read the book his wife Brenda wrote. It was well worth the read. If you want to meet a woman who has been through the rough and tough times and has come through it for the Glory of God, this is the book for you! Brenda has done it all, been a Marine, a single mother and the wife of a Super Bowl Champ. Her story is compelling, interesting and totally from the heart. I recommend this book for you to read from a regular and not so regular woman's heart.

Bok Sneeze has gifted me this book in exchange for my review. It was not mandatory for me to give a popsitive review just an honest one. Thank you Thomas Nelson Publishing for an awesome and inspiring read.

Good Afternoon all of my lovely friends,

I decided that I had best do a bit of blogging today ad show you a couple of things I have recently done. I have a craft fair coming up on December 4th ata the American Legion so I have been busy making cards and things for that show. Bu the other day I made favor bags for my God daughter, Destiny´s birthday party. I hate to admit this but I never did this for my girls and wish I were close enough to do such things for my grandkids in the States, but I had such fun doing these for Destiny. I had the little cellophane bags already so I just filled them with some fun stuff her mom, Stasia and I bought. She had bought fingernail polish, fingernail art stickers and some little gemsand bracelets, I furnished the candy. To finish the bags off I took a piece of 5X3" paper and folded it in half, then stapled it to the bag. I then placed al strip of pink paper on with the words feliz cumpleaños ( Happy Birthday) with a crown I cut using my indie Art cartridge and my cricut. I added a litle red flower embelishment to the crown. Destiny loved them and I had great fun.

My next little project I am going t show you today is a mini album made with 1 12X12 piece of paper. I watched a tutorial I saw on Fantabulous Cricut that a girl named Cristie had done. Loved making this little album and they are the perfect size to carry in a grandma´s purse or mom´s purse to show off your kids. It has a little pocket on each page where you can place the photo or some journaling or even tickets from a special event. Just a cute little gift to give. I finished it off with some Prima Flowers that I have had for ages and a brad heart and some great ribbon I got as a gift from my friend Laurel at Cow Town Stamps. Last Day of the Hop

Good Morning,

I am so sorry to say this is the last day of our hop. I had many cards that I made from the beautiful papers I received from Paper Primpers Altered Art, but they are packed and ready to be placed in stores and business for sales. I am also working on new cards for a Christmas Arts and Crafts show that I do every year at the American Legion. A percentage of all my sales goes to help the local children's shelter here, Centro Amor in Action. This shelter has approx. 50-60-children that reside there. These children are such wonderful miracles of God's love and grace as they have been abused, abandoned, or negleccted by their families but they are given a loving home at this shelter and are truly loved and protected there.

I was so blessed and I also made 2 house boxes that can be given as holiday gifts with candy or cookies in them. Good Morning and Happy Thursday,

So sorry to be posting this late if you arrived here from Tammy´s site you are at the right spot. If not just begin the hop at Paper Primpers Altered Art. Since this is the 3rd day of the hop you have no one to follow after me, but please do come back tomorrow and see everyone´s lovely end of the hop projects. I know I have quite a few that I have made with the beautiful papers sponsored by Paper Primpers Altered Art. I made quite a few holiday cards and such so please come back.

Today´s project I must tell you is a first time thing for me. I made a paper bag album. I have never attempted one of these before but as I said at other times stepping out of my comfort zone is a new and exciting experience for me. I watched videos on bag albums on U.Tube and decided I would just give it a whirl. Well this one that I am showing today is the second one I made aas the first one, well, we will forget about it. I did so much enjoy making this album so be kind as it really is a work in progress for me to be stepping from cards to doing something entirely different.

I used 3 paper bags and the beautiful papers that I received, made a few pockets in the album and a place for tags or journaling to be done. I am hoping as I continue to make these they will get much better but please enjoy what my first but not last attempt!

Good Afternoon Everyone,

I decided that I had better post before I do anything else. This week has been very busy as I have been making many cards for my new business venture and with my husband traveling to Guadalajara every day for radiation treatment we don't know if we are coming or going. Also we had approx 3 days of continuous rain due to the hurricane that hit on the pacific coast. We didn't get the winds but we got quite a bit of rain and gloomy cold weather.

The weather now is beautiful. The sun has returned and we have beautiful blue warm skies.

The 2 cards I am posting today are from my Give a Hoot cricut cartridge and some pattern paper from Martha Stewart that I picked up when I was in the States a couple of years ago. The sentiments are from Stephanie Banards's line of Stamps of Life. Hope you enjoy these 2 cards. Sorry for the shadow on one of them but I had already packaged them in cellophane for sale.

Last Day of Haunted Halloween Hop

Good Morning all my dear friends,

Well today is the last day of our Haunted Halloween Hop and your last chance to post on all the Honey Bee Design Team's blogs. I had planned on posting every day but then OOPS! Life got in the way! My week has been a bit overwhelming with a fender bender on Monday. Tuesday meetings. ( for the American Legion) and Wednesday Spanish class and errands afterwards. Today me and my dear hubbie are heading by bus to Guadalarajara to renew our health insurance and then return home. Late this afternoon we go to see our local IMSS Dr(government health care), so who knows what time we will be home. As for the fender bender on Monday I had to pay out $700pesos (the equilivant of $70.00 USD) for the damage done to the other guys car, and that was money I was savng to get paper to make Christmas cards. Oh well, I will do with what I have and God will provide. He has never let me down.

Today I am posting the cards I made for this Hop. The card I featured on Monday and the other 3 I made using paper from our leader and founder of Honey Bee Corner, Misty Rose. 2 out of the remaining 3 cards are easel cards (I just love to make these) and the other card is one with a patchwork of paper.

Day 2 of the Haunted Halloween Hop

This will be a very short post as I have made a dreadful mistake in my original post. I said that you could leave a comment on my blog and win a prize, but please please, please, leave comments on all the Design Team members blogs! That is what will determine who will receive a prize. I have done hops before and i tis usually mentioned to leave comments, I was very tired when I posted that and I mistakenly did not say to leave a comment an all the blogs.

Here is my card I created fo rht every first day. Ialso want to let you know that all our projects were created by what our dear Misty Rose sent to each one of us to see what we could do and how we would use our papers and embellieshments.

I personally love the different papers and the fiber embellishments she sent to me. This card is quite large not your regualr A2 card as I wanted to make the chandeler my focal point. My base is some beautiful orange paper with the chandeler and cobwebwith spider. I cut out the BOO from my Simply Charmed cartridge with my Cricut machine. I tied my fibers on the right side and added some of my own I Rock orange and black gems in the left bottom hand corner.

Pleae stop by each our Design Team Members each day and leave a comment. I think I will be crashing the other days as I have made a project for each day. You only have to leave a comment on my blog to be eligable for a prize at the end of our hop. You may have different requirements from the DT members. We will be featuring somethng new every month between the 3rd and 6th of the month, which will be our regular hop schedule for the months to follow. Next month it will be all about Christmas! A Shaker card

Good afternoon Everyone,

Hope you are all having a great day! My day has been a bit overwhelming but then I had a long talk with God and now I am feeling better. You see this morning my husband went with our Pastor to Guadalarjara to see the Oncologist. He has a lesion on his spine whch tuns out to be cancer due to the prostate cancer. He will start treatment on Octber 15th for 5 days of radiation. The Dr is quite optomistic and expects a positive effect. I was feeing a bit overwhelmed, but I realize that God has a purpose and plan and He is in charge not me! That sure brings relief.

Anyhoo,I made my very first shaker card. Now, I know many of you have probable made these befoe but I was very timid to try this as I felt it would not go well, but I was very wrong. I love making them! I think I am addicted to them at the present time. The card I am goingto show you is my oldest daughter's Birthday Card. The card is deep purple as I asked my daughter what her favorite color was and her response was "Purple of course as purple is a sign of royality and I am the Queen in my house"! All I can say is "only Rachel"

So her card is made with deep purple cardstock the shaker part is a light blue back with with love and you're a sweetie (the stamps are from the Greeting Farm) stamped on it and framed with flower pattern paper from Martha Stewart. I aded the little lavendar ribbon and bow. The shaker card has white and pink seed beads inside to give it a little extra bling and the rattle sound. I also decorated the card with shiny purple butterfly embellishaments. The Happy Birthday is stamped in Making Memories, Tuxcedo Black ink. The stamp is fom Mark's Finest.

Design Team Announcement!

Good Evening all,
I just wanted to stop in and telly you all my exciting news! I have been accepted on the Design Team for Sweet Mahnolia Rose's Hone Bee Corner Classroom. This site is a new business venture for my dear friend MistyRose. As alot of my friendships are, Misty and I have never yet met face to face but we have worked on the same design team before so she knows my style and has invited me to stretch out of my comfort zone and come into her world of Altered Arts. I have to tell you this girl is incredible! She makes up things in her head and they become a reality, Amazing! Her kits are availabel for purchase and I promise you they will not be easy, but you will discover to create soething that you might not have ever thought you could before. As I stated before I will be taken out of my comfort zone and made to stretch muself. When I talked to her on the phone, she told me that I would no doubt not be liking her for the first couple of kits as they are nothing like I have ever done before. I have never scrapbooked or done anything except cards and a few favor boxes or my Christmas House boxes, so what I will be doing with her is totally out of my element! I am scared but excited too. I am going to make my husband my chief photographer while I do these projects so you will get to struggle right along with me!

Book Reveiw

I am posting this review for the book, Spring for Susannah by Catherine Richmond. I found this to be a very interesting fictional book. If you like to read pioneer stories and books of that nature you will enjoy this book. I actually say myself in this book as Susannah begins her life as a shy, scard, and often asheamed woman who feels she has no worth, to a woman of valuse and incredable strength. She has lived a "civilized" life in Detroit, Micigan and goes to the new territory to become a bride to a man she has never met. She is so afraid she is nto enough and he will send her packing her bags back to Detroit. When this wonderful man, Jessie just wants ot love her and make her see and feel her value. The only thing I was disappointed with is the ending. I would have liked the sotry to goona bit more to see what happens next. I am hoping that there will be a sequel that will continue this story.

Cleaning

Good Morning my Friends,

I don´t know about you but there are times when I wonder where my desk is in my studio. Well guess what? I actually found it! Yep it was hidden under piles of papers, glue,embellishments and the cat´s butt! My cat, Jewel loves to lay on my desk among my papers and things. Well no more! She is banned from the studio. I got tired of cleaning not only paper up but cat hair also so she layes on my bed and watches from afar. I don´t let the dog in anymore either as she just chases the cat or whines because I am not paying her enough attention. Sometimes I think my animals are more spoiled then a couple of kids. Actually I KNOW they are. I am going to post a few pictures here one of my cat, when she was allowed into the middle of my mess. My God daughter, Destiny when she was making a card in the midst of the mess and my clean desk! Yep believe me it was there! I doesn´t look that way anymore but I am trying to keep my work surface a bit cleaner. I don´t know about all of you but my studio is my sanctuary, my place to be creative , to listen to praise and worship music and to just take the time to listen to God minister to me through my creativity. When I am in my studio I am totally and completely alone with God and He leads me into that place to be creative to share my heart. Not only do I listen to music but I also skype with dear friends while I am working so if any of you out there have Skype and want to chat with me just look me up and we will hook up for a chat. Just to be together or to create together. No talking even needs to happen I just enjoy time with friends and seeing what they are doing also.

Halloween Cards and DT link

Hi Everone,

These 4 cards I wanted to share with you all as I have made these for my 4 grandchildren for Halloween. This post will also be linked to have a chance to work on a new DT which I will tell you about in a follow up post. I sure do hope I make the team as the girl who is doing this is a real sweetheart. (no I am not just saying that cause I want ot be on the DT, she really is)

The first cards as you can see is a tombstone card. The images on all these cards were cut using my Simply Charmed Cricut Cartridge and to this one I added a flower from A Walk in My Garden Cartridge. The base is orange and the tombstone is cut at 3 1/2' with all the corrdinating layers cut at the same size. I used the Swiss dots embossing folder with my cuttlebug to get the texture on my main cardstock base. The tombstone itself is given dimension by using foam mounting tape. I added the orange ribbon as I just love ribbon especially for a little girl. This card is for Ashlin.

The next card is the bat tree and it is cut at 3 1/2 " with corresponding layers. Again the card isin orange for the base with black, grey, and yellow. This card was so much fun to make and as all the cards, easy peasy to make.

The bat card is for Deryk. The bat is cut at 2/12" layers of black, gray, and pink. So cute and so easy.

The last card is so stinking cute just like my littleist granddaughter Emalee. Whenever I have made a card for Em, she carries it all around iwth her at least for the first day. Sure know she loves her Grammy's cards! The ghost is cut in 3" with black,white, and pink. Again I added a little bow of orange ribbon for that femine look.

I sure hope you have enjoyed looking at my cards. I was offered to place my cards in a hair salon to sell and I was so happy as I can do what I love to do and maybe make a few bucks to boot. My first knitted sweater

I thought I would share with you today my first knitted project. I have made in the past a scarf for my grandson, but I have never knitted a garment before until I decided to make this little light yellow sweater for my youngest granddaughter, Emalee. I added ribbons and animal buttons to the front to make it a little more girlie and put some color into it. Sure hope my daughter likes it. It is a size 2 but Em is such a peanut she will no doubt be able to wear it as a sweater dress and it will probably last until she is 5yrs. old.

Cute baby card

It sure is a beautiful day here in Mexico. Sun is shining and the weather tends to be a bit cooler today. I havene't been on to post for a week or more so decided I best get my self in gear and get everyone up to date and share ths cute little card also.
We went to Guadalarjara last Thursday and my husband is beginning hormone therapy for the prostate cancer. The pills have not kicked in yet as he is still tired and this may continue until they do the implant to deliver the testerone. At least we see a light and answer to this challenge in our lives.
I am also taking a Spanish class. I think it is about time, don't you since I have lived here in Mexico almost 5 years. I really enjoy the class and it is small. About 4 of us. I get ovewhelmed in a large class as I get embarassed if I do not know the answer and cry. I know that is just terrible but when I get frustrated I cry. I can be so pathetic! LOL
The card I am showing today I made using 2 Cricut cartridges. The baby bunny is cut using the Simply Charmed cartridge. The It's a girl, is from Beyond Birthdays. Both of the images are cut at 3" and fit on a standard A2 card (41/4"X51/2") I took patterned paper and embossed it with my paisley folder using my Cuttlebug. The bunny is mounted with mounting tape to give dimension and the it's a girl sentiment is cut in black and overlaid on the Shadow/block of the same sentiment. I sure had fun making this card and hope you have enjoyed it also. I will be posting again on Thursday with another card using the Simply Charmed cartridge. Have a great day! Be Blessed!

Berry Sweet

Hi Everyone,

Well, we got a great surprise today! We received a package from our grandson, Vincent. Vincent never forgets our birthday's or holidays and is such a great guy. Well, Al and I got our birthday presents from him and we were both thrilled.

Al got 2 Miami Dolphins tee shirts. GO DOLPHINS!! He has followed the Miami Dolphins since they first began! He really is a Die Hard Dolphins fan.

Vincent surprised me with a new cartridge for my Cricuit machine. The cartridge is called Simply Charmed and I just love it! It has something for every occassion. I just thought I would show you this simple card I made to send to him for the great gifts.

Ingredients:

white cardstock

bright yellow paper

dark pink paper

light pink paper

black paper

olive green paper

black ribbon

paper crimper

Black ink

Foam mounting tape

Card recipe: I began this card with the white cardstock cut at 51/2"X 81/2" scored and folded in half. The yellow paper is approx 4"X 51/4" I then stamped the You're, using Memento Black tuxcedo ink and a stamp from Stamps of Life. I then crimped the paper up about 2" and added some black ribbon. Placed this on the white base cardstock. The strawberry is cut at 21/2 " and is in 3 layers. Black at the base, dark pink for the berry, olive green for the stem and lite pink for the cheeks. I also cut the "Berry Sweet using the shift for the base in olive green and then the layer on top in black. This measures about 11/4 ". The berry is placed on with mounting foam to give a little pop.

Stamping Sisters in Christ Challenge

Hi there, thanks for stopping by again today to see and read about my dear friend and to check out my card for a challenge.

Scripture: Lam 3:22 –23 “The faithful love of the LORD never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is His faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning.” This is the verse for the Stamping Sisters in Christ Challenge this week. I found this lovely blog site by a fellow blogger on FB this week and have decided I wanted to play along. The card I am featuring is one I made using the little girl from the Just for You set I bought htis weekend at the Expo in Guadalarajara. It reminds me so much of my friend Stasia who has people at her gate every day asking for food or assistance in some way. Sometimes it is for food for the baby or diapers or for food for the family or for money for the family. Stasia and her family are faith missionaries here in Chapala Mexico and they live simply by faith. They rely on monies donated to them through loving people who want to see the work of the Lord payed forwarded. Stasia has made such an impact on my life as she has shown me what it is to give without reserve. To give and totally rely on the Lord to provide. I love this stamp and how the little girl is giving muffins. This shows a lovingheart filled with joy and compassion. I think of all that God has provided for me and my family and how much He cares for each and everyone of us every single day. Big blessings or small we all have so much to be thankful for. Girl´s Day out!

Hi Eveyone,

Well I had a blast yesterday as my BFF and her 2 little girls and I went to an Expo in Guadalarajara. We actually attended 2 expos while we were there. One was a craft expo! Woo Hoo!! I loved it! Stasia and I splurged and made a pair of earring each. It was fun. Every vendor (well almost everyone) had it so you could take a lesson and make something to take home. Of course it was all for a fee, but there was so much to see and do. Stasia loves to knit and crochet so there were a couple of vendors that were selling yarn and other supplies to make things and giving a lesson on how to make beautiful things. I am just learninghow to knit so I was much more interested in paper stuff. I bought a stamp that is adorable it is from a company in Colorado. This company was not there but the girl there from Tijuana, Baja California was selling stamps from this company. She had them marked up 100%. I went to the website after I got home and bought a few digi stamps from them. Believe the stamps I bought I will cherish as they were the most expensive Tstamps I have ever bought!! The site is called www.TheGreetingFarm.com. They really have adorable stamps if you like the little kid theme. I love the cute little kids and these stamps are super adorable. I will be sharing creations I have done with them at a later time.

The second expo we attended was the Mascotas Expo (Pet expo) There were so many dogs I could not believe it! The only breed of dog I did not see there is that of my dog a Pappilon! They also had a petting farm which we had our pictures taken with the lama. Fun, fun, fun. The little ones had a blast! WE were all exhausted by the time we hit the road to come home. Had to stop at Starbucks for some much needed caffeine!! Hope you have had a great weekend and enjoy the pictures. I am taking the day and creatingin the studio today! Yeah!!! Joyous Day!

Hi Everyone,

Well I am trying to get back into the swing of things again. Today is a joyous day for me as I am actually working in my studio again after a way too long of a time!

I just finished this card using my Walk in My Garden Cart with my Cricut. I don't know about you but I am terrible at gardening! When I lived in NY we had a big garden and grew our own vegetables and I canned pickles, apple sauce, tomatoe sauce and froze veggies to eat during the long cold winter month

Now I am thrilled to have my basil and oregano growing and I use those wonderful herbs in my cooking! But honestly I cannot grow plants! My dear friend Stasia grows beautiful flowers (when her daughter's dog, Roxy doesn't eat them first). She has a jasmin bush, sunflowers, gardineas, she is doing it. Not only does she grow beautiful plants she grows and nutures wonderful kids!

The weather here in Mexico is beautiful this time of the year as everything is green and the flowers are beautiful! What an awesome blessing to live here!

I have so much joy in my heart today as I have been enjoying my studio and listening to praise music and finally feeling the creatinve juices flowing again. I just had to take a moment and share.

So Sorry it has beens o long

Good Evening my dear friends,

I know I have been MIA for quite some time and I do apologize. My hubbie has been very ill for quite some time and I have not even been in my studio for approx a month or longer to even work. I sure have missed my time there for that is my sanctaury where I work, pray and listen for God to speak to me or cause me to create something that He would find pleasing.

On this special day (my birthday) I thought I would share what I am thankful for and hopefully find a card to also share. I am so thankful that Christ is my Lord and Savior. That He bore all my sins and died on a`cross so that I may live in His freedom and grace! !

I am thankful for my sweet and loving husband who treats me with love and respect and really loves me for who I am ( which I can honestly say is not an easy task, but we all have our crosses to bear! LOL)

God has blessed my life with wonderful family and friends! Words cannot express the joy and the love that I feel from the presence of these people God has placed in my life. When the road is hard and the burdens feel almost too difficult to bear, a dear friend will step up and show me that they will help me carry the burden or lighten my load with a smile and a hug. I feel God's love and grace at that very moment.

Blessings can happen in big ways and in small. A blessing I received today was my god daughter, Destiny and her sister Ella and brother Noah, singing Happy Birthday to me over the phone. It was more beautiful to my ears than a choir of trained singers as these precious young voices sang in perfect harmony to me. WOW did I ever feel great!

Let us never take our blessings for granted and always remember to thank God for all the blessing and little miracles he places in our lives daily. The miracle of the blooming of a flower, or when my sweet husband wakes and smiles at me, or a friend calls even though her day is going badly. as she wants to bring a smile to my face and a song to my heart.

This life here is just a temporary moment in God's great skeem of things and I am learning day by day to be thankful and treasure every single blessing.

Let me tell ya about friends!

I just thought since my friend Stasia has been busy with her family for the last 2 weeks I would write my thoughts about friendship. As you look at this picture you will see, I am in the miiddle and as you look straight on Stasia is on the right side and Georgie is on the left. I have to tell you I have many acquaintances but few people I w ould actually call friends! These 2 girls are FRIENDS! I met Stasia about 2 years ago and we are really kindred spirits. We both love to craft, read, do shopping and have girlfriend times together. I met Georgie about 1 year ago. She and Stasia have been friends forever, so I am very honored to be a part of the trio we make up. It is great to have someone you can confide in and tell everything to and they do not judge you are critize you. They love you no matter what! By the way that is how God is too.
I have fallen on my face, stuck my foot in my mouth and well you get the picture, just about any mistake that could be made I have been there done that! I did a Beth Moore Bible Stdy with these 2 awesome ladies. The study was Breaking Free and boy did we ever! I didn´t realize how much hurt and bitterness I carried along with me for years until we did this study and these girls just loved me right on through all the baggage .
I find that no matter what God never leaves me or forsakes me. Now don´t get me wrong God is so good and He puts people in our lives in His timing, especially when we least expect it. Cherish your friends and remember just how much God cherishes you. He is only a prayer away. I feel like I have not really organized my thoughts here but keep me in your prayers as I am a work in progress. Also please continue to pray for my hubbie we have no answers yet, but God knows and we totally trust Him no matter what! God Bless you all and hugs!

A new card and some reflecting

Good Morning Everyone,
I thought I would post a card today and take some time for reflection. This was not really the card I wanted to show but I guess I didn't take pics of the one I wanted to share and it has beens old.
As you can see this card has been done with the Create a Critter Cartridge. I seem to get stuck on one particular cartridge and use it over and over again. My cartridges are very limited, but that is ok as I do so love the carts I have. The Ingredients for this card are: white cardstock for the base, yellow for the 1st layer then I added a layer of stripped paper. I have placed 1 square gold brad in each of the corners of this card ( almost out of them) The cow I believe is cut at 3", as I usuallly cut most of my images that size. As you can see he is layerd with black 1st layer, medium pink 2nd layer and light pink or maybe cream for the third layer which is his muzzle. So there you have it.
Now on to the the reflectiion part of my post.
With my husband being ill lately it has caused me to reflect on my life here in Mexico and my life in general. I live a very simple but very happy life here. I pray costatntly that my husband will get better and I know that God hears my prayers as Al is having a few better days, not real good but I can get him up and out occassionally. Yesterday our pastor spoke of Hope and Change. I realize I cannot change my circumstance ( really wish I could ) but I can change my attitude, the way I react to things and people and also change myself. God and I have had some long talks lately as I sit and reflect and thank Him for my life and for all that I have endured to come to this place. God has helped to give me the grace to forgive and move on in areas of my life that I thought would never happen. I was married before for 22 years and some were not very good as we struggled with our own identies and a marriage that took place at much too young of an age. We were both 19 and we thought we knew everything (I bet a few of you haev been there). I have two gorgeous daughters from that marriage and 4 beautiful grandchildren, so there are no regrets. I will say that I have lived with regrets for alot of my life, wishing I had been a better mother and a better wife, etc. I am sure many of you can relate to this. I did the best I could and now later in my life see how I could have improved and done better but that is then and this is now. My ex-husband has moved on with his life as well and has a great wife who loves and appreciates him and loves our children and grandchildren as well, and I am very thankful for her. I do know that I want to be the best person I can be. To be kind and loving to all I meet and share my life with. To cut people more slack as so many do not know what they do or how it comes about. I can only control myself,, with God's help. God and I as I have said before have had very long and deep discussions concerning what I need to do and focus on to be more loviing, kind, graceful and most of all a humble person. I want my light to shine in dark places and to help people see the love of God through me. I honestly believe that is what all of us want
I will continue to showcase cards that I do but I will also be reviewing more books and sharing my thoughts and heartfelt prayers with you. I hope you will all hang in there with me as I continue along this journey of finding and rebuilding myself. I am so thankful for my family and friends and my dear sweet loving husband. I am so thankful for my life here in Mexico because I can truly stop and smell the roses and have times of reflection. May God continue to enrich and bless each and every one of you! Book Review The Sacred Meal

I know I have been missing in Action for quite some time. Things are a bit overwhelming here at home and my husband is not very well so I have not been able to do much blogging. I did however want to blog about the lates book I have read from Book Sneeze. I recieve this books at no charge to read and review. They are only sent to me for review. The latest Book I have read is the Sacred Meal. this book is a very enlightening book about the ritual aspects of Communion and the personal aspects. I don´t know about you but when I took communion in church I always thought of it as the body and blood of Christ and all that He had sacrficed for me. After reading this book I now look at Communion in a semi different way, meaning I still know it represents the body and blood of Christ but it also represents Community. Communnion mean community to bring together people from all walks of life to one place. The place where Jesus brought us all, where he gave all that He had for all of us. I have always cried at Communion as I rememeber what Christ did for me, but now I also experience joy and everlasing peace and love for those around me. This book opened my eyes to not just thik of Christ´s death but to see and bring myself to a place to humble myself to remember his life. What Christ did at Calvary is a part of his life but His love was the greatest gift he coulld give. I now recieve His love with humbleness and grace and long to share Hs love with others around me. This book is a very good read and I hope you will look for it at your local book stores and read it wth an open and willing heart.

Toadily Frog Hop April 23 and 24

Good Morning,

I hope you all have had a wonderful week. Mine has been crazy and tiring. Spent all day in Guadalarjara while my husbad had tests done then they decided to keep him overnight and that was a total nightmare! Then on Thursday morning they decided to discharge him at 6:30 am. We live 1 hour away from Guad, so off we went to get him. No sleep for both of us the night he was admitted so consequently we slept most of the day away on Thursday. Today I had to clean this house and get laundry done so at least I can work on cards this weekend!

The card I made today is done using the Create a Critter Cartridge. I use a couple of the features on ths cartridge. #1 the Frog which is cut at 3" and #2 the umbrella from the chick for rainy days. My lettering is done using the Police Baton Cartridge. I started out using a white cardstock as my base, then added a layer of blue paper. The clouds are done using a stamp from Stamps fo Life and then I did the white lining of the clouds with my white gel pen. The frog is mades using the first layer of black cardstock then green paper which I embossed with my dotted swiss embossing folder and my Cuttle bug. Added pink cheeks and a yellow belly. The umbrella is made using brown cardstock for the base of the umbrella and then some DP for the umbrella. The umbrella is embossed using my divine swirls embossing folder and my Cuttlebug. The green letters are cut at 1" usinh the Police Batorn cartridge. Hope you enjoy the finished product. Now remember to hop on over to Ellen's blog and see what else is in store for you! Book Review: Max on Life by Max Lucado

This is my very first book eview for BookSneeze I received this book as a complimentary book to review. I must say that I feel very honored and priviledged to do this review on the book Max on Life by Max Lucado. Max Lucado is a very accomplished author as well as a compassionate and loving father, son , husband, and minister. If you have any questiions as a new or mature believer this is the book you must read. I found many answers to questions I have had myself, but actually were embrassed to ask. I know I have had many questions about doubt, fear, my faith and so much more and this book covers all those questions and more. Max takes a hard look at all your questiions and provides insightful Aand scriptural based answers. "God is in the business of turning our mistakes into moments of grace". Max stated this in his book and it was just so exciting for me to have my Light bulb moment so to speak) at that time. Another portion of this book that I found encouaging and enlightening was in the area of prayer. Often times we don't really know how to pray, or we feel we don't do it right. Here is an excerpt from his book. Prayer is an based on ACTS:

FCCB Challenge #56 Something with a Rabbit on it.

I have just popped in to show you my card for the #56 FCCB Challenge. We are to do something with a rabbit in it. Well of course with Easter this next weekend, all the kids will be anxiously waiting for the Easter Bunny to arrive. I decided that I woudl give an Easter Blessing and make my card with the Create a Critter Cartidge.

Ingredients:

Recipe:

To make this card I started with white cardstock and it is a standard A2 size card. I added blue paper for the background. My cartridge was Create a Critter and I used the rabbit, the accessory button, for the basket and the flowers. The basket is cut from paper I have called Once Upon a Time. The flowers were all cut with extra scraps I have of yellow, pink, blue and green. The rabbit is 3" in height and layered with black for the base, pink for layer 1, and brown for layer 2. On layer 2 of the rabbit I used my Divine Swirls embossing folder with my Cuttlebug to give some dimension to the rabbit. I seem to be using my embosing folders more and more lately. I have a few and make good use of them. The sentiment was stamped using my Stamps of Life stamps.

Ingredients:

Create a Critter Cartridge

White cardstock

Handmade Mexican Paper

Pattern paper

Scraps of pink, yellow and green paper for flowers

Recipe:

I began with white cardstock for the main card which measures when folded to be a standard A2 size card. I then cut my handmade paper to fit the entire front of the white card stock, 41/4" X51/2". I used the Create a Critter, Rabbit using the Accessory button to create the basket. The flowers are cut using the shift lock and layers 2, 1, and 3. The flowers were cut at 2" with all the layers cut at the same size. The basket Is 3" in size and cut from DP. I layered and glued all my flowers together added the gems. I then placed the flowers through the slit in the basket . Then I used foam mounting tape on the back of the basket to give dimension to the image and there you have it. A fun spring card. As you can see the handmade paper is off white with green leaves in it and the pink and yellow are my flowers with the dark green stems and leaves. Well today I am posting my card for Karel's April Toadily cute Blog Hop Challemge. This is going to be a fun hop so I hope you will all toadily come along and hop with us . I can guarantee you will see many fun things along the way.

Before I get on to the card, I just want to apologize for not being too active here lately. My sweet hubbie has not been feeling well, and my priority is definately him! I hope he is coming around. My husband is one of those guys who is always on the go and lately the only go he has is to sleep. Tired all the time and these things really concern me. Please be patient with me as I get back into the swing of things and begin to post more often.

Cricut Cartridges:

Sweethearts and Create a Critter.

Recipe:

The main card is created with white cardstock, cut so folded card is 41/4"X51/2 " in size. A layer of 41/4" X51/2" paper is cut using the handmade purple paper. The girl and the Marry Me are cut using the Sweetheart cartridge . She is made using beige paper for her body, a scrap of yellow paper for her hair, purple cardstock for her dress and the "Marry Me". the frog is made with black cardstock, olive green cardstock, light green paper and red paper for his cheeks. His crown is cut from a scrap of gold cardstock and he is created using the Create a Critter cartridge. Both the girl and the frog are then placed on the card front with foam mounted tape to give dimension.

#53 Think Spring FCCB card

Good morning everyone,

I hope you all had a great weekend. As you can see my blog got a face lift this weekend, thanks to my dear friend Stasia, I love the new look. She has also set me up on Twitter, who would know I would get so high tech! Oh well, never to late to learn!

Todays's card is for the Fantabulous Cricut Card Blog. I am so thrilled to be on this design team and enjoy it very much.

When I think of Spring of think of newness of life. The flowers blooming, trees budding and of course nature giving birth. That was my inspiration for this card using Give a Hoot Cartridge. A baby fawn in nature discovering butterflies and walking inthe field with pretty flowers.

Ingredients

Purple cardstock card base

Light green cardstock=grass

Pattern paper =tulips

Yellow paper with green and stickles= butterfly flying above

Black, white, and pattern paper for the fawn.

As you can see I used the purple cardstock for the base of the card. I then cut my grass and tulips with green paper and DP paper for the tulips. Layered these and then placed foam tape to give dimension to the grass and flowers. Layered the fawn using black paper for the base, white paper and patter paper for the main coat on the fawn. I think the DP adds a little something else to the fawn. The small and large butterflies are cut using yellow paper and then I added some green stickles plus a layer of green paper for the large butterfly. Good Evening Everyone,

I thought I would share a card with you today that I made for a friend of mine for her grandson's birthday. She told me he loves to go fishing so I thought this would be cute.

Ingredients::

Orange Cardstock

White Cardstock

Blue DP

Brown/orange shade paper

Lime green paper

Black paper

Yellow paper

Bright red/orange paper

Cuttle Bug Embossing Folders:

Divine Swirls

Swiss Dots

Tooth Pick

Dental floss

Create a Critter Cartridge

Cricut Die Cutting Machine

Recipe:

Cut Orange cardstock to 81/2" X 11", fold in half, make crease with bone folder.

Use Create a Critter Cartridge and cut fishbowl with shift key on, white cardstock 31/4 inches

Leave shift key on and use layer 1 for water cut on blue pattern paper, layer 2 orange/brown paper for sand, layer 3 lime green paper for plant. Then take off shift key and cut out fish using black cardstock as base, then layer 1 in yellow base of body of fish, layer 2 green body,

layer 3 in red/orange for face. Cuttlebug the blue pattern paper using divine swirls embossing folder, use deboss side. Emboss plant using the same folder showing the emboss side. Emboss fish with Swiss Dots embossing folder and Cuttlebug.

I then took a tooth pick to be the fishing rod and attached, a piece of dental floss. I fed the dental floss through the slit on the top of the fish bowl. I used foam mounting tape to apply the fish and tucked the dental floss under the mouth of the fish. The tooth pick is glued down with regular glue. The Happy Birthday stamp is stamped with Memento tuxedo black ink. I of course rounded the corners of the card as I like them much better that way.

My Trip to Guadalarja

Good Morning,

I thought I would post some pictures from my recent trip to Guadalarja. I had to go in for blood work and so a girl´s gotta do what a girl´s gotta do and that is shop. I bought some lovely handmade paer which approx costs $1 in the Us. These sheets of paper are huge and simply beautiful. I am also going to post some pictures of some women we met who were painting on velvet and inlaying gold foil. The one lady in the picture was 84 yrs old and her granddaughter was painting with her. I love going to the art district and seeing what everyone is doing. Women sit in the park area and knit and crochet. Classes for some stores are held right at the entrance to the store so you can stop and watch. As you can see one picture is in a yarn store. I am learning how to knit so I bought yarn to start to make my grandson a sweater. My goal is make each one of my grandchildren (4) a sweater for Christmas. The yarn here is more expensive than the yarn in the US, I purchased 3 skeins of Red Heart Yarn, the super saver size for approx $6 each and I know itis much cheaper in the US. We had so much fun. Stamping Vacation and Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog Challenges

Good Morning Everyone,

How is it going? First of all I want to thank all of my new followers and thank you to all of you who already are followers. It means the world to me to know that people follow my blog and like what I do. You are all such a blessing.

I have 2 challenges for you today. The first is from Stamping Vacation. I was to make a card for a child who had lost a tooth. Well, I can't draw (seriously, I have difficulty with stick figures) that is why I love stamping and my cricut machine as it does the hard work for me and I have the fun of playing. I came up with making the tooth fairy for this card. The tooth fairy is made using my Joys of the Season cartridge and also my Indie Art cartridge for her wings. I used the little smile and the word smile and also make a wish from Stamps fo Life. The paper was a gift from my grandson and I added some woven ribbon for color. I also used the Divine Swirls embossing folder with my Cuttlebug to create dimension for the fairy's dress. The gold is gold stickles so she will sparkle! I also gave her a star crystal to hold. I get alot of my ribbon from the local fabric store and the crystals are either nail jewelry or I buy them at the tiangies (street market) here in Chapala. I had no idea what I was going to do with this card but where there is a will there is a way! LOL I love it when I plan comes together!

The second card is for the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog! I have just recently had the privilege of being chosen to be a designer in this group and I love it! The theme is "Hip to be Square" and the colores to use were gold and green, but you could alos use yellow in placeof the gold. This card measures 4.75 X 4.75 inches. the top layer of green is 4.5 X4.5 inches. The cartridge I used was Create a Critter. The chick is 3 inches in height, my speed was set at medium, presure at max and blade at 3. The chick consisits of 4 layers. The blackout (Black paper), layer 1(yellow paper), layer 2 (yellow paper), and layer 3 (orange paper). She is mounted with foam dimensional tape. My sentiment was cut using a 1 inch oval punch on the yellow paper, 2 square brads added and the chicks rule stamp is from a set I bought over a year ago when I was in the States (can't find stamps here) The sentiment is also mounted with foam tape to give dimension. The green paper I ran through my cuttle using the Spots and Circles embossing folder.

Here is the card I made for her. I used white cardstock as my basic card, then layered with a piece of Decorative Paper with all the guitar's I then added a guitar that I cut with my Cricut and my Indie art cartridge. All the paper is from the Your Rock paper stack.I stamped Happy Birthday using the happy birthday from Mark's Finest Papers. The oval which this is stamped on is made using a 1" oval pucnch. The oval and the guitar are attached using foam dimensional tape to create texture. I used a piece of brown ribbon to match the brown in the paper and added a bow. Hope you like the card.

Stamping Vacation Challenge Special Month March

Good Morning,

Sure hope everyone had a good night's sleep. I have a very hectic day ahead of me so I am going to get right to the card.

The Special Month Challenge is to pick anything that relates to the month of March. Well since yesterday was Fat Tuesday (and yes I do resemble that remark LOL) I decide to make a Mardi Gras themed card.

Ingredients:

White Card Stock

Decorative Paper

Off light brown paper

Purple paper

Green paper

Black paper

Indie Art Cartridge

Create a Critter Cartridge

Heart shaped crystals

Nail jewelry (yep you read right)

Stickles

Embossing Folder

The whte cardstock is the main card which measures 8" X 11" folded in half to create an A2 sized card. The decorative paper has been run through my Cuttlebug using the Divine Swirls Embossing Folder. The DP is then adhered to the white cardstock. Next I cut my crown with the layer using my Indie Art Cartridge and Cricut. The masks are cut using the Create a Critter Cartridge and a layer is the mask for the racoon. The crown is decorated with an amber colored crystal heart and nail jewelry. There are 3 crystal hearts inthe lower right hand corner of the card. The masks are decorated using Stickles. The crown is mounted on the card with foam dimensional tape. I rounded the corners of my card. You will no doubt notice that on the majority of cards that I make as I like the look of rounded corner vs sharp corners.

This is a very different type of card for me as I usually use clean and simple lines and this card seems to be to busy for me. Please forgive me, I am not particularlly to fond of this card so if you do not like it you will not hurt my feelins one bit.

FCCB Challene #50 Tree-mendous

Good day everyone,

I know this is the second post for the day but I really wanted to post this card for the FCCB challenge #50 for Fantabulous Monday. This card is very simple and easy to make.

Ingredients:

White cardstock for card base

yellow cardstock

Cassie's Brocade Emblssoing Floder

Heritage Cartridge for the tree and leaves

Variagted yarn (not sure I spelled that right)

AS you can see I used white cardstock for the base of the card. I then took a piece of yellow cardstock and ran it through my Cuttlebug using Cassie's Brocade Embossing folder. I cut my tree and the leaves using my Heritage Cartridge and my Cricut of course. I then wraped varigated yellow yarn around the yellow cardstock before gluing it down on the white card. The leaves have mounting foam on the back to give some dinmension. Hope you like this nice bright card! Have a wonderful crafty day.

You Rock card for soldier in Irag

Good Evening Everyone,

Thought I would take a minute to share a card I made with you that I am going to send to a soldier in Iraq. I will no doubt put it in the mail this week. Need to write a little letter for it! Ingredients:

White card stock for base

Rocker card stock for background layer

Indie Art Cricut Cartridge

Guitar and Star also cut from Rocker cardstock

You Rock stamp from Stamps of Life

As you can see I have assembled this card with the base of white cardstock followed by the Rocker guitar pattern cardstock. I then cut my star and the guitar at 3" from my Indie Art Cricut cartridge. Layered the guitar with black paper for the inside of the star and also did the guitar in 3 layers. (1) guitar it self (2) guitar main part in shadow in black. (3) the guitar base in the pattern paper that comes with the Rocker paper. I glued these all together then popped it up using my favorite friend foam dimensional tape. I cut the blue piece with my oval punch and added You Rock to it with the you rock stamp.

Hope you enjoy this card and sure hope my soldier friend will also. I don't know much about him but I intend to send him lots of cards to make him smile. I got his name and address from Karel at One By One The Flamingos Are Stealing My Sanity. As I told Karel, if it were my daughter (who is in the Air Force) I would want her to get mail from home. Nothing makes your day go better than getting mail. I love to get mail and am always thrilled when I get a card or a letter or package from family or friends in the States. It feels like Christmas when I get something!

Hi Everyone,

I sure do hope your day is,going well. Mine is. Doing a Beth Moore Bible Study this morning, "Breaking Free", it sure is an awesome study! If you ever get the chance to do this study your definately should!

Today I am also the Guest Designer at One By One The Flamingos are Stealing My Sanity. Karel is a really cool lady and does so much, she is always busy, busy. busy. She is also hosting a blog hop this month called Make Up Your Own Holiday. Today that is what my card is all about. Although we just don't celebrate this holiday anually each year it is usually celebrated every Saturday or Sunday. My husband and I have a wonderful God Daughter named, Aly and we pick her up on Saturdays to spend the day with her. She lives at a local Children's Shelter here in Chapala called Centro Amore in Action. (Love in Action) It is a wonderful shelter for abused, abandoned and neglected children. We became Aly's god parents a few months ago just before her 15th birthday. She is such a sweetheart and we adore her. Anyway the card is in honor of our Holiday which is "We love ICE CREAM".

Indie Art Cartridge for use with Cricut

Embossing folders, frame and Divine Swirls with Cuttlebug

I layered the peach cardstock which is my base for the card with the pumpkin cardstock after I had embossed it using the frame embossing folder. I then cut out my ice cream cone at 3", my speed was set at 4, my blade at 4 and my pressure at Max. I also used the shadow feature for the base cone. I then cut out the ice cream cone without the shadow which gives the cone the waffle effect. Each of the pink and white scoops are cut out at 3" also. I then layerd all the parts using my zig glue pen and embossed the ice cream with the Divine Swirls embossing folder

Pick 3 challenge from Stamping Vacation

Good Morning All,

Well, I am trying to get my DT button ,from FCCB to post on my blog and also the button for the new monthly challenge at Karel's One By One The Flamingos Are Stealing My Sanity. I also have to get my project done for her am the guest designer on the 3rd of March. Busy Busy. I am also taking my God daughter to the dr. today as she needs to be seen and is very tramatized by having to go. She is, 15 and this will be her first time to the ob/gyn. I can't blame her I hate going too!

Today I am posting my Pick 3 Combo for the Pick 3 Challenge at Stamping Vacation. The choices ths month to pic from were: 2 different ribbons, anything with a star, yellow cardstock, button, torn edge, white gel pen, green, rabbit image, and felt. As you can see by my card I picked, yellow cardstock, torn edge and green. The base of the card is the yellow cardstock, the torn edge is some pale brown and the green is the truck. The thinking of you is from Stamps of Life. This card is going to a soldier in Iraq. I have started to write this service man to lift his spirits and to let him know is is thought of and appreciated.

Yipee!! and a Challenge Post

GOOD MORNING,

Well today is a super day for me as I get to announce to everyone that I am a new Design Team member of the Fantabulous Cricuit Challenge Blog (FCCB) I am so thrilled as I love my Cricuit and have joined this blog's challenge usually every week. I submitted my application on the last day with really no hope of getting picked. I opened the email from Robin and thought it was a condolence note. You can only image my sheer joy and excitement as I read I was picked to be on the team. Woo Hoo. More details will follow!

I am also adding here my challenge for Stamping Vacation. It is The Music In You and the song picked was The Rose by Bette Midler. . I have sung this song many times at karoke (ok quit laughing). Well after my hubbie and I got married 13 years ago we decided to go on a cruise to Mexico. On the cruise they were featuring a talent night and my husband urged me to sing. I said "whatever" and auditioned to sing The Rose. Well they asked me to do it. Since I had sung it so many time before I thought no big deal, well I was so wrong. As I walked into the banquet room I noticed it was full! I was not singing karoke, I had to sing with a live orchestra and a room with over 500 people. Man was I scared! As I took the mic to sing, I was shaking so bad that you could actually see my legs shaking and I was so afraid I would fall down! I got through the song and got off the stage (cannot believe that my legs did not give out) No one won anything but many came and told me how much they loved my singing. That I believe was just about the last time I have sung that song!

Now on to the card itself. I used cream cardstock for the main card. Stamped Love from the Valentine Set from Stamps of Life. The rose is cut using my Indigo Cartridge and my Cricut. I distressed the card with Tim Holts Tea Dye, distressing ink. Pleas stop on over to Stamping Vacation and join in on the fun!

Hockey anyone?

Hi Everone,

Just thought I would post a quick Birthday Card I made for a friend of mine for her Grandson. She told me her Grandson loves hockey, sure hope it is ice hockey, so I made this card with a black ice skate.

Ingredients:

Yellow cardstock

Orange scrap paper

Black Paper

Gold scrap for blade of skate and bow

Swiss dot Embossing folder

Joys of the Season Cartridge

Just Because Cards Cartridge

Happy Birthday Stamp

As you can see I used the bright yellow cardstock for my basic card. I then cut the orage layer from a pieceof scrap paper using my Just Because Cartridge, It is 3" size. I then embossed that orage paper with my Swiss Dot embossing folder and my Cuttlebug. Next I ut out the Boy's skate in black paper using my Joys of the Season cartridge, 3" size and then did the layers for the card (the blade and bow) in a scrap of gold cardstock. The skate is mounted with mounting foam tape. I stamped HappyBirthday in the lower right hand corner. I have no idea where I got this stamp as I have had it forever. I used Memento Black Tuxedo Ink for that. I then rounded the outside corners of the card. I just love rounded corners.

Emboss It Challenge

Good Evening Evryone,

I just thought I would shae this quick card I made for a friend to give her husband for his Birthday. Jimmy is a very sweet guy but he is a little diamond in the rough. He is a Vietnam Vet and he runs a fantastic beauty salon here in our area. One of the few where fashion matters, and he is up to date on all the current trendy styles. His wife Marilyn is a very dear sweet friend and when she asked me to make a card for her sweet Jimmy this immediately came to mind.

The card is on white cardstock, with a layer of light off blue paper which I embossed with my Cuttle bug and my cuttlebug folder Swiss Dots. I then cut out the diamond 3" size on my Cricut fromthe Indie Art Cart. The sparkle is also cut from yellow paper and is the shift button with this diamond image. I used stickle glue on the sparkle. Mariyn loved this card and so do I hope you all enjoy it, I am entering it in the FCCB Challenge #48.

Hi Everyone,

Hope you are all having a great day! I have been busy in the studio making birthday cards for our local Women's Christian Breakfast gang. I love it when God puts something or someone in your path to share what you love to do!

The card I am posting today is for the To Who Challenge at Stamping Vacation. Thsi card is for someone who has just gotten a new pet. I don't know about you but I love my pets! I have a Papillon who's name is Dixie and a beautiful Calico cat, named Jewel! They are my furbabies and bring me much joy and amusement.

This card's main cardstock is white with a layer of black and a layer of orange colored plaid design paper. The Westie is a stamp from DogGoneStamps.com and I stamped this image and colored him in with my Prismacolor Markers and my Gel Glitter Pens. The sentiments are from the Stamps of Life. I then added 3 blue jewels using my IRock setter and gems. This is one of my favorite cards as I think the sentiments on the card tell exactly what our furbabies mean to us and what they do for us. When I first came to Mexico I brought Dixie with me while my husband returned to the States to get things taken care of before he came down permanently. I was here 7 months alone and I was so glad I had Dixie with me. Our Jewel is a street cat who folowed me into church. When she fell down the stair at the church I knew she was the cat for me as I fall all the time!!

My Prince Charming

Good Evening Everyone,

I thought that I would share with you the Valentine card I made for my husband and tell you a bit about us.

I met my husband in 1997 after moving to Florida. I had been living in New York State in a little town called Jamestown, about 2 hours south of Buffalo, NY. I decided to go to Florida because I needed a new start and I was tired of the cold weather. I had lived in Florida for approximately 1 year prior to meeting my husband, who believe it or not I met through a newspaper ad. I know surprise surprise. I had started to date using the personal ads in the newspaper in February of that year and by June was pretty fed up as I had met alot of Frogs and no Prince Charming ( that is where the prnce charming comes from on the card). Frankly it was a habit to look in the newspaper to see what or who was out there as I was totally alone in Florida with no family, just a few friends, people that I worked with. Anyhoo, the night I placed the call to my husband's ad, I regreted it after I did it and told God that He was all I needed and that I was so sorry and would not do the ad thing anymore. Well that is when God decided to interven and give me someone to love and who would love me. The next day my husband called and asked me out to dinner. I hadn't eaten yet so I accepted his invitation. We had a wonderful time. Had dinner, I met some friends of his and then we went to a jazz club after dinner. As we were getting ready to leave and I was going to my car he kissed me goodnight and handed me his business card on which he wrote his home and cell number. When I returned home after the evening, I called his home and left a message thanking him for a lovely evening. I didn't really expect to hear from him again but here we are 14 years later being married for 13 years. I can honestly say I am married to my best friend and to a man who loves me for who I truly am. God gave me a wonderful man to love, who loves Him and together we are on this magnificent journey to share God's love with others. This journey has brought us to Mexco to live a life I could have only dereamed about. We don't have much but we have one another and a wonderful fulfilling life here. God has showed us what is truly important in life and has given us more than we could ever have imagined. I have learned that material things are just things and true love is the one most important thing that truly matters in life. God is so good.

I thought I would share this card that I made for him with you. I started with white cardsock as my bad=se. I embossed the front of the card using my Cuttlebug and the Kassie Brocade embossing folder. I used a green dye ink to ink up my embossing. I then cut the crown out using my Indie Art Cartridge and my Cricut. It is 2 layers the main crown and then the shift button was used to creadt the small overlay of the bottom oportionof the crown (this could also be used for a Gueen's crown if desired) I added a red heart jewel on the top. The Pince charming was cut out with the Create a Critter Cartridge and the Cricut, in dark green. I am also adding our wedding picture for you all to see.. I sure hope you had a great Valentine's Day. By the way it was also our wedding anniversary! (We picked that date so he would not forget) LOL

Rainbow and tulips a lovely combination!

Hi Everyone,

I decided that I would show you all my card for Karel's Birthday Bash at One by One the Flamingos Are Stealing my Sanity! Today is day #11 of her birthday bash and she is celebrating and giving away great things for the entire month. Way to Go Karel!!

The card I made is just a fun card and I enjoyed playing with it. So many times I have a Cricut cartridge and I think I really don't know what else I can do with it but then I discover something I never tried and away I go. That is what happened with this card. I started out with pink cardstock ( I love PINK, it is my favorite color) I used my Create a Critter cartridge to make this fun card. Not only are there great animals on this cartridge but there are cute accessories. I made the rainbow with the first layer being the rainbow and the red heart then cut the layers of the rainbow with pattern paper of yellow, blue and purple. I then cut out the tulips with the shadow feature in black and layered the stems and leaves and the tulips. I also incorporated my Cuttle bug and the swiss dots embossing folder to use on one tulip face and one stem and leaves. I also used my white gel pen to do some faux stitching. The Happy Birthday sentiment is from Mark's Finest Papers. I then added a small pink bow and a crystal pink heart gem, to add the little glitz and ribbon I love to use. Thanksfulness

Hi Everyone,

If you have come today for another crafty card, you will be disappointed as I am writting today about thankfulness.

Living here in Mexico has been a real eye opener for me as far as poverty and how much I have to be thankful for. Many of you know that I go up on the mountain here which is called Tepague (mountain people) and help to feed the poor on Friday mornings. Well today my friend Stasia and I went to a home where a mom just has had a new baby. My heart broke for this young mother and her family. They really live in deplorable conditiions as you will see by the pictures here. I am not sure if they have a bathroom but she does have a stove for cooking. They live in 1 or 2 rooms and the rooms are separated by a curtain. There are 2 beds that I saw and she has 3 children and her husband. We took her some food and diapers and wipes for the baby. She was so thankful and I held the baby for a few minutes (such a sweet bundle). When we left I started to cry as there are times when I whine or complain and believe me after seeing this family I have no reason to and am truly blessed. God is developing me and has given me a heart for these people here that is so strong and full of love for them.

I am remind me of the song ¨Thankfulness, thankfulness is what I long for thanksfulness is what I need. Thanksfulness, thankfulness is what You want from me¨.

May our lives be full to overflowing with thanfulness! I am thankful for each and everyone of you. May God continue to fill you with joy and with thankfulness today and everyday! God Bless!!

Inspiration Challenge

Hope everyone had a good weekend and enjoyed the Super Bowl. As for me I was working on a Bible Study then went blog hoping. My hubbie slept throught the half-time show but then woke up to watch the rest of the game.

I am featuring 2 cards today for the Inspiration Challenge at Stamping Vacation. Now rememebr to comeon over ther and check out the challenges remember on for every day of the month. then head on over to One By One the Flamingos Are Stealing My Sanity as Karel's Birthday Bash with prizes EVERYDAY!!

On to the cards!

One of the cards is very KISS, it get's the icdea of love across and my hubbie thought it was for him! It is a stamp fo a heart wreath that I colored in with my glitter gel pens then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. This is all done on white cardstock. I then stamped the I Love You! Easy Peasy.

The second card I started with Pink cardstock then added a layer of decorative paper (Not sure where I got it from as I very rarely get DP), used my Martha Stewart lace daisy border punch and added a pink ribbon and a jeweled hear and some little hearts onthe tree.t The tree stamp is from the Angel Company and the round sentiment was from a retired Stampin Up set that I received as a gift!

Good Super Sunday!

Well today is Super Bowl Sunday and I am the featured Guest Designer on the blog One By One the Flamingos Are Stealing My Sanity. I have just become a member of this design team and am having quite a good time there. I am also featuring my Special Month card for Stamping Vacation. This Special Month I picked International Freindship. I have always wanted to go to Paris so that is what this card is all about. Let me get to that card first then I will tell you all about my guest designer posting.

The card I made for the Special Month Challenge, as I stated is for International Friendship. My cardstock for the main card is craft cardstock that I bought from Hobby Lobby when I was in the States this past summer. The Eiffel Tower and the Cheri were cut using my Cricut and my Summer in Paris Cartridge. I also added a red and white Prima Flower. I haev always wanted to go to France and I once had a Pen Pal from there when I was in Junior HIgh (back in the Dark Ages)LOL.

The card I made for my Guest Designer Spot on One By One the Falmingos Are Stealing My Sanity is Super Bowl related. My husband LOVES Football so hence the football card. I think any football lover woud like this card. My husband didn't know who he wanted to win the Super Bowl so I have made the card in green and yellow for the Green Bay Packers. They have not gone to the Super Bowl or at least won it for quite some time so I am rooting for them!

The recie for this card is as follows:

White Cardstock as the main card, followed by a layer of yellow star pattern paper that I got at Costco over 4 years ago when I lived in the States. The football is a digi stamp from AiFactory and I mounted it with foam tape. The letters were cut from dark green cardstock using my Police Baton Cartridge and my Cricut. I know this is a pretty simple card, but guys are not about ribbon and glam. Besides I am the KISS girl (Keep it Simple Silly) . I don't like the word Stupid, in that well known phrase as I am not Stupid just Silly. If you don't believe me ask anyone who knows me and they will verify that statement. I resenble that remark!!

She is going to be a young 55 (I am jealous as I am 4 years her Senior at least I will be in August). Happy Birthday cards

Good Evening,

Today is the 3rd day of Karel's Birthday Bash! She is giving away such awesom goodies all month long! Today she is celebrating Chinese New Year! I decided I would share a couple of Birthday cards I made with you all. They do not relate to Chinese New Year however, but they were fun to make so here goes.

My first card is done with the basic layer of the card

in mint green. I then added a layer of white paper which I ran though my Cuttlebug using the Divide Swirls embossing folder. I then added a tree that I cut at 3" from the Heritage Cartridge with my Cricut and also the frame with the Happy Birthday is also cut from that same cartridge. These were both cut from olive green decorative paper. I added some pink ribbon and 2 butterfly brads on the frame.

The second card I am featuring today is with white cardstock as the main card paper with a pretty blue/white decorative paper layer. I then used my Heritage cartridge again to cut out the cameo and the frame at the bottom of the card, in navy blue, again using my Cricut. I added 2 blue brads for holding the frame. The Happy Birthday's on both cards are stamped with my Happy Birthday stamp from Marks's Finest papers.

Exciting News!!!!!

I am so excited that I can hardly contain myself!! I have been accepted as a new Design Team Member to One by One the Flamingos are Stealing My Sanity. Karel Jennings is the owner of this great blog and this is her first ever Design Team. I am so happy to be chosen. I have some computer issues to clear up as I can't seem to open documents but you will see some great things going on at this blog. The month of February is Karel's Birthday Month and she is having challenges and giving away prizes ALL Month. Come on over and check it out!! As you can see I chose vellum, border punch and the word love. Red Cardstock is my main card, then I added a piece of vellum that I ran through my Cuttlebug using the birds and swirls embossing folder. My border is punched using the hearts border punch from Martha Stewart. The love is cut in black and from the Beyond Birthdays Cricut Cartridge. For a little bling, which you all know I love, I added the 3 crystal red hearts!

Faboulous Cricut Challenge #44

Hi,

Just thought I would share with you a card I am entering into the Faboulous Cricut Challenge. The challenge was to use a cartridge that you haven't used in the last 6 months. I got my Indie Art cartridge as a gift and have never used it until today and I think I am in love with this rose image! My basic cardstock is light pink. I then took a layer of the darker pink ran it though my Cuttlebug with a frame embossing folder that I got from a very dear friend. I cut the rose first in black on shadow then cut the rose as is on green and did the pink rose on the shift key. This is all cut in 3 inches. I then layerd my rose and added mounting foam on the back to give height and dimension. The Happy Birthday Sentiment is a stamp from Marks Finest Papers. Hope you like this card and will come back to see more of what I create later in the week.

Want to go on a Bike Ride?

Hi All,

Just thought I would write you all a quick post to say "Hi" and to share with you a cute card I made using my Summer in Paris Cartridge and my Cricut. I also used my stamps from Stamps of Life. We really had a busy weekend as we attended and helped put on a wedding here. It is the first Mexican wedding I have ever attended or been a part of. A young man we know met a wonderful lady and they decided to get married, well, it was so much fun, but my husband and I were the only Americanos at the wedding. My Spanish is very limited and everyone spoke Spanish but we all got along really fine. Living here in Mexico has really spoiled me as the people here are so nice and friendly. The bride asked my husband to walk her down the aisle and I escorted the groom to stand at her side. After the wedding at the reception she started to call my husband Daddy and me Mommy. We are truly honored to be a part of this but ths is the first, last and only wedding until our God daughter decides to marry and she has assured me that will not be until she is 28 years old. We shall see!

Any whoo on to the card. Thsi card was simple to make and I love the Summer in Paris Cartridge. I first cut the bike out in black, then cut out the intricute image in pink and layerd them together. I used green cardstock as my base for the card as I like the look of pink and green together. The You're Amazing is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I then added a pink ribon and bow (you know how I love my ribbon!) I also punched a border with my Martha Stewart daisy border punch. Hope you have enjoyed ths card. You are such a Stinker

Hi Everyone,

Hope you are all having a great day. I have a really cute card to share with you today, but first let me catch you up on some news. I did not do the art show on Sunday as I decided to look at priorities in my life. I have been struggling with continuing to be a member of the art society for some time now and I have decided to not be a member anymore. I will still make my paper art to sell or share with famly and friends but not do the art shows anymore. The only shows I will do are The LCS Fall Festival and the Legion Christmas Show. I really enjoy these 2 shows and have so much fun doing them. I would like to participate more in challenges and such, and also be prepared and waiting on what God would have me do for Him. I would rather be in church on a Sunday than at an art show.

That being said here is the card I am showing you today. I love using my Create a Critter Cartridge with my Cricut so here is a little skunk with a flower. The basic cardstock is pink. The skunk is 2 colors, black shadow, white, and gray. He is so cute with his little pink nose. The sweet on the card is also done with the Create a Critter cartridge. The you're... stamp is from Stamps of Life. I also think I am going to place this in a challenge this week.

Wedding Invitations

Hi Everyone,

I told you I would post a picture of the wedding invitations I made for our friend's wedding so here it is. The main part of the card is off white cardstock with a layer of handmade paper which I punched out the heart border using my Marth Stewart heart border punch. I then cut out the bride and groom using my Stretch Your Imagination cartridge with my Cricut, added the burgundy ribbon and bow. The bride was thrilled with these invitations. I am also showing you the inside, although if you speak Spanish you will see that I made an error in spelling but saw it and fixed it. She loved wathcing me do gold embossing so I embossed a gold heart under the Scripture in the invitation.

To Who Challenge

Hi Everyone,

When you read this I will be at an art show in Ajijic. The local ASA (Ajijic Society of Artists) is having their monthly show. I will be there trying to sell my cards and meeting and talking to old friends and making new ones!

The card I am featuring today is from the challenge at Stamping Vacation. You are to make a card for someone who has done something Extraordinary! I don't know about you but I think flying up in a hot air balloon would warrant that as Extraordinary!! A friend of mine several years ago decided that she wanted to do just that before she died. She had cancer and I guess this was on her bucket list. She was an extradonary woman and sweet, sweet friend. The kind you could tell anything to and you knew she would love you.

Anyhoo, on to the card. The balloon on this card is from the Summer in Paris Cricut cartridge. This cartridge is full of lovely intricate designs and I love using it for just that simple fact. The you're extradorinary is from a set I received from our sponsor this month Stamps of Life. As you can see the pink balloon is layered on a piece of green cardstock which was my base cardstock. The you're extraordinary is stamped in Memeto Black Tuxedo Ink. I also added 3 pink I Rock gems to the upper right hand corner . Birthday Cards

Good Morning Everyone,

So how is your week going? I am a busy bee making cards as I have a show on Sunday. Sure is a good thing I love to create and spend so much time in my studio!

I am going to show you 2 cards I made for the birthdays for the ladies prayer group which I attend.

The first card, I started with a white cardstock base card and layerd it with grey cardstock. It features a stamp from Dog Gone Stamps. I really love this window. I have colored it in with my Bic Permanent Markers and my gel glitter pens. Placed a blue ribbon under the wondow and the Birthday Blessings is cut from my George Cricut Cartridge.

The second card I started with white cardstock as the base card. Added a pieceof DP. The Butterfly is from my Give a Hoot Cricut cartridge and I added a pretty woven ribbon and a bow.

Special Month Challenge

Good Morning Everyone,

How is your weekend going? I have taken refuge in my studiio for most of the weekend as the playoffs for football are on and there is no TV watching for me! I actually put some movies in my computer in the studiio to watch last evening. Got quite a bit of work done. Need to do much moe as I have cards to stock in a store and cards to make for an art show next Sunday.

The card I am going to share today is for the Special Month Challenge at Stamping Vacation. Did you know that January is a special month for more than just New Years? The list I could choose from consisted of:

American Heart, American History, Black History, Children's Dental Health, Hot tea, Cherry, Embrodery, Bird Feeding , Responsible Pet owner. I choose Hot tea, as I love a good cup of Hot tea, especially inthe evening.

My card features a teapot and tea cups from using my Pagoda cartridge wih my Cricut machine, and the word tea delicious are from the Stamps of Life who is our January Sponson here at Stampin Vacation. As I have said before I love Stephanie's stamps as they are so easy to use and provide a very nice clean image. Again I urge you to stop over at Stamping Vacatiion and get involved in the challenges. Hi There Everyone,

Hope you are all having a great Saturday. I have been in the studio crafting and making Valentine cards and thought I would share one with you. At Stamping Vacation, the Stamps of Life is our sponsor for the month fo January so I used some of her stamps on this card I made for Valentine's Day.

The card base is off white cardstock. I then cut 3 hearts using my George Cartridge and my Cricut. I stamped the elephants then colored them with my Prismcolor Markers. I then cut them out and mounted them to my cardstock with mounting tape. I stamped the sentiment on the hearts using the set I got from Stamps of Life. These were also placed on the card with mounting foam tape. By the way the elephant stamp is from Dog Gone Stamps. I added 3 little pink I rock glam gems to the front of the card. Very simple, easy, and cute card.

Inspiration Challenge

Hey Everyone,

So nice of you to stop by and check out my latest card for the challenge on Stamping Vacation. There was a photo from Denise to Inspire me and I believe it was of a farm house in the winter with a horse and sled or horse and buggy. I really loved that image and since I am originally from Erie, PA and lived a good share of my adult life in Jamestown, NY not far from Amish country this was a pretty common scene for me to see.

To begin I used light gray cardstck for my base. Added a layer of blue that I embossed using my floral fantasy embossing folder and my cuttelebug machine. I then mounted on the white church that I cut using my Cricut machine and my Heritage cartridge. I had a left over sled from I think my Christmas Noel cartridge. I then took glitter glue and accented all the embossed areas on the blue cardstock. I think it gave the card a nice elegant look and I got the glitter effect that I love. You know me, glitter and usually ribbon. I am such a foo foo girl!

Flamingo?

Good Evening Everyone,

I just thought I would post a card I did today for the January Challenge at One by One the Flamingos are Stealing my Sanity. I met the owner of this blog on line over a year ago on Scrapbooking and Crafting Freinds. I was active in a group that sent cards to people requesting cards for loved ones in the Military, nursing homes, sympathy, and so on. Karel is a really fun lady and has a super blog with great challenges. She is always sending me info about her challenges so I decided to take her up on it. Well the challenge had to be with using flamingos for something. I have to confess, I cannot stand the bird and I lived in Florida! I mean they are ok, but I would rather look at a Macaw or a parrot of some type. Anyway I wrote to Karel and told her my feelings and she said just come up with something you don't have to like flamingos. Of course I do not own anything Flamingo, and I mean nothing so I fudged it!

My cardstock base is a very soft pink with a layer of blue cardstock. I then cut plants, bamboo, a bridge railing and "flamingos" from my cricut using my Pagoda cartridge. The birdes I used were as close to Flamingos as I could get! The little frog on the lily pad is from my Create a Critter cartridge. The frog and the flamingos are lifted with foam mounting tape. I must admit I had a fun time making this card and I hope that Karel likes it as well. This card may also qualify me to become a member of her design team. If not that is ok as I entered the challenge and plan on doing more challenges.

Hope you are all having a great day. I sure did as today was the first day in over a month that I actually felt good enough to shower, put of some makeup, and go out for a while. It sure did make my hubbie happy as I have mostly stayed in pajamas and in bed for the last month!

Submission for DT call

Happy New Year again everyone,

I am posting a card I created today as a submission for the Design Team on My Pink Stamper. Robyn is a very talented lady and I love her videos and she has tons of great stuff always going on. Besides that she is super nice!

Any way she has offered a challenge to those of us who want to be on her design team. To be honest, I don't think I will get picked but you can never tell. There are so many talented people out there and I keep things pretty simple and clean. I like the analogy of KISS Keep it Simple Silly! Anyone who knows me knows that I a definately silly. Hey someone has to be the comic relief person! :)

The card I am entering is pictured here and it is with the colors that Robyn selected herself. Her favorite colors are pink, green and brown. My card base is green with the Birthday Blessings cut using the shadow in brown and the sentiment in pink and I used my George Cartridge with my Cricut machine. The poodle is also done using my Cricut and the shadow is brown with the intricut poodle cut done in pink. The cartridge used was Summer in Paris. I really love this cartridge as the designs are so intricut and pretty. I love foo foo and I also added some pink heart crystals and a clear round crystal for the poodle's eye. I added ribbon as I love using ribbon. I am pretty much a glitter and ribbon girl.

Hope you are all having a great New Year's Day. My hubbie is watching football, what else is new? He is going to pick up our God Daughter and her friend to spend the night. WE love having Ali with us.

Good Morning,

I thought I had best get thhis post up as it is up on Stamping Vacation and I am a bit late doing this. Beleive it or not I have an sppointment book that goes everywhere with me and I write everything in it, but why I get behind I don't know.

The card I am featuring today is for the Music in You challenge at Stamping Vacation. The song is "Rocking Robin" The stamp set I used is from Stamps of Life and it is the Tree2Build set. I love the sets I get every month from Stephanie and her videos are a blast to watch. You get a really good deal with the cost and shipping if you are a Club Member. Ok, on to the card.

The base of the card is craft cardstock then a layer of blue is added. I stamped the tree in brown pigment ink and the leaves in color chalk dark green ink. The birds were all stamped in Memento tuxedo black ink and then colored in with my gel glitter pens and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. The word tweet is from this set but the You Rock is from the thank you set also from Stamps of Life. I really hope you like this card and will join in on the challenge. Also Stamps fo Life will be our sponsor at Stamping Vacation for the month of January and you will see many creations with these wonderful stamps. These stamps are very detailed and so easy to use. To Who Challenge

Hello All,

Hope everyone is feeling well and staying warm. It is fairly cold here in Mexico and the cold weather is playing havoc with my immune system! As you read this post I wil be in Guadalajara seeing the Internest for a regular visit, but a much needed one. I have had a cough for months and with this weather I am really sick and hurt from coughing so much.

Enough about me, God is good so I need not worry or complain.

The card I am sharing with you today is for the To Who challenge at Stamping Vacation. It is to someone who loves winter. I had various stamps to choose from and after posting this card to Denise thought of others but this fellow really loves winter and does his best job at Christmas! You got it Santa!

My dear friend, Julie gave me this Santa stamp and I colored him with my Prisma colored pencils and added some glue and glitter on his hat, fur and beard for that little bit of glitz that snow can bring. I stamped this image on off white cardstock. The Greetings sentiment is from Mark's Finest Papers. Oh Christmas Tree

Good Evening all,

Well, it is late and I am exhausted! I have been awake since 2 am. I sure am readyto go to bed. I had to go to Guadalarjara today to have lab work done. I do not know what I would do with my dear frend, Stasia! That girl is amazing and she never complains! She got up early as did I to be able to have some quiet time with the Lord and prepare her heart for the day ahead. I always find when I spend time with God in the morning the whole day goes so much better. Any way, I went to her home at 5:30 am to pick her up to head to Guad. She drove, bless her heart and got us there in plenty of time and with no problemas. Went upstairs to the lab and it was full of people before 7am! I thought we would be waiting forever to get my blood drawn, but praise God we got right in and taken care of. After that off to Vips for the fruit plate for breakfast and COFFEE!!! We both really needed that caffeine! We then did some shopping in downtown Guad and had a great time! Of course no day of shopping is complete without me falling at least once! Yep, down I went on my right knee and hands, didn't see the curb!! I really do need a cane to find my way some days! I have no depth perception so I fall very easy as I do not see steps up or down! I am thakful for healthy bones as I have not broken anything and my knees have no cartlidge they are just bone on bone, but praise God I am still moving although sometimes I am pretty sore! After some shopping we had a nice lunch then headed on our way home. I drove part of the way as Stasia was just too tired and I am so thankful for all she does for me. She is fluent in Spanish and helps me more than words can say and I am very grateful to her and for her friendship. God really knew I needed a kindred spirit so He gave me Stasia! We got back to Chapla aound 3 pm and I did not even gt a nap. I tried believe me but no success.

Any who I thought I would share this card I made using a digi image from CardMadFairy Images. I used Prismacolor markers, gel glitter pens to color the tree and bow, then added a, I rock, whte pearl to the tree. Mounted it on DP on cream cardstock. I added a strip of red ribbon on the left side and they you have it.

Another Challenge

Good Morning,

Well today is another great morning and another day to post a challenge for Stamping Vacation! Today's challenge is for the Special Month. Stop on over to Stamoping Vacation where yu can see the complete list of themes to choose from. I chose Hi Neighbor.

To make this card I chose pale lavendar cardstock for my base. I cut out a decorative door with my Cricut and also the silloute for the door in blue. I then added a really pretty little bow with a pearl in the center for the door embellishment. The wreath and Welcome are stamped with Color BoxPersian Blue ink. These stamps are from Mark's Finest. As you can see this was a super easy card to put together, but I am sure anyone new to the neighborhood would welcome this little card. It is a nice way to say Hi Neighbor.

Snow Babies

Well I decided touse some digital images from Cardmadfairy for the 2 cards I am posting today. I just love these cute little snow babies! I colored them both with my Prsmacolor and Bic Permanent markers, a little of my gel glitter pens and of course some glitter. Hopefully you will be abel to see the glitter on the "fur" on their hats and pom poms. I have enjoyed making these little cards and will no doubt make more. Also the "Greetings" on the the first card is courtesy of Marl's Finest Paper stamps. Of course Iahd to add a little ribbon to one of the cards as well!

Inspiration Challenge

Hi All,

Well I am behind in getting this posted, please forgive me. I have been sick this last week and I had a show today. I am not up to par, thank goodness for a calendar that I do look at every now and again.

The card I am posting today is for the Ispiration Challenge at Stamping Vacation. The phot that was to inspire me was of a stain glass window in a church. Well, I don't know about all of you but I love seeing how people decorate their homes at Christmas and especially what I see through the wondows. I love it when I see a beautiful tree! My card is of a window that I used my Cricut Christmas Noel Cartridge to create. I placed soft green vellum ehind the wondow and behind that I placed a Christms tree with gold crystals for ornaments. I also used one of the stamps from Mark's Finest Papers from the Fancy Flourishes set and stamped Greetings on red cardstock then cut that out with my oval punch and mounted it on the card with mounting foam tape. I hope you have enjoyed this card and that you will check out this challenge and all the other delightful challenges that Denise offers on Stamping Vacation. Pick 3 Challenge

Good Morning,

Well, i is a beautiful morning here in Mexico! The sunshine is bright and itis a bit cool but will woarm up in time for my afternoon walk. I thought I had best share with you my card for the pick 3 Challenge from Stamoing Vacation. To checkout what you can choose from head on over to Stamping Vacation. The 3 items I picked were plaid paper, snowflake image and glitter.

I actually made 2 cards for this challenge. I absolutel love snowmen and snow although I don't want to have the cold!

I am not sure how these will appear so here is the description of each card..

I used plaid paper for each card. One card I cut out a wndow, used dental floss and cut 2 snowflakes in blue and layer them with gold metalic paper and placed the dental floss between the 2 snowflakes and hung them from the window. I used a stamp that I bought at Walmart years ago when I first started to make cards, for the greeting. I framed the window in blue and cut an edge on the side with decorative scissors and layered the same blue in a strip on the side. I placed a small amount of glitter on the Snowflake greeting on each of the small stamped snowflakes.

My second card is also using plaid paper again, 3 snow flake images using my Cricut, Christmas Noel cartridge. I then added glitter to the snowflakes and mounted them on the plaid paper with dimensional foam tape. Added a little blue ribbon with a bow and there you have it!

Musuc in You Jingle Bells

Well I am so glad I checked the database for my design team as I have a card to show you today. This card is for the Music in You Challenge and the song is Jingle Bells. I have 2 cards that are very similar so I will share both with you. One is gold bels and the other is Silver Bells. These cards were done using a brass stencil and embossing paste then I threw in some glitter and my trade mark ribbon. I also used some brads in the Silver bells one. Silver Bells was my Mom's favorite Christmas song. She really loved it. Mine is Winter Wonderland! Breakfast anyone?

Good Evening,

Just thought I would see how everyone is doing. All who celelbrate Thanksgiving I am hoping you had a blessed day. My husband and I went to the American Legion here in Chapala for a great turkey feast. Had a great time and even brought home some leftover for sandwiches, which is always the best part of Thanksgiving the leftovers!

This morning at 8am I went up on the hill to help make a free hot breakfast that is feed to many poor people there. The need is great and I consider it a privilege to be able to serve these wonderful people. They are always so appreciative and loving. I cut up hotdogs to put with eggs this morning in tacos, plus tomatoes, broke eggs fro scrambling and made a rice drink that is very popular here, it is like a rice milk with sugar and vanilla in it. The pictures I am showoing today are in no specific order but will be of people eating, my friend Stasia holding a baby (she always gets them before I can lol) and also one of me with her daughter Destiny who is 11 and my little sweetheart!

I am also going to add a picture of my dear hubbie with our Goddayghter from the center. Alehandra (Ali) is turning 15 this weekend and it is a very big deal here in Mexico when a girl turns 15. This party is called a Quincernna ( not sure if I spelled it correctly) but it is a very big affair with a ceremony in church and a huge fiesta afterwards. Enjoy the pictures and have a great evening and a blessed weekend.

Are you ready for Christmas?

Hi Everyone,

Thought I would post a new card for you all and tell you a little funny? Story. Here is the story:

I decided that after I watched a video on you tube I would try to make snow for someof my little candy houses. So off to the fabric store I went. Well the first store I went to didn't have any styrofoam (which you need to make the snow), but I bought about 20 meters of ribbon (which is a ton). Well, when you don't speak Spanish or very little as I do you don't know how to say styrofoam, so I showed the girl in the store an arrangement that had the styrofoam on it and she wrote the name down for me and directed me to a little fabric store I usually go to. I gave the man behind the counter my little note and he showed me the balls of styrofoam. I bought 2 small ones, well, the styrfoad here is NOT like what I am used to in the States! When I returned home, I started to proceed to make my snow by cutting the balls in half and to rub them together. I got NOWHERE! So off I went to find something to use, I got out my kitchen grater and since I wanted fine snow I was using the very small side that is used for hard sheese, again got NOWHERE. I then decided to use the larger area and I got snow and a HUGE mess! Ihad styrofoam everywhere!! I was wearing it and so was every inch of my studio! I finally got what I made into a container, but you know that stuff has static cling? Try getting it off your hands and into a container, amazing when you want to make something that looks so easy can be so troublesome! I finally got the glue on my house and the "snow" doesn't look bad but not sure if I will add anymore to another house. Really need to think seriously about it! I will post a picture of my house with snow another day as I am just staying away from it for a bit!

The card I am featuring today is a very simple card. I used whit cardstock for my card, added a piece of designer paper. I then stamped the wreath from the set I received from Mark's Finest Ppaper and added the tree. The tree is cut form one of my Christmas Noel cartridge, using my Cricut. I cut the shadow of the tree first then layered the inage with gold Metalic paper, I bought from Sparkle and Spinkle stamped Season's Greetings in the lower right hand corner.

To Who Challenge

Good Morning Everyone,

Sure hope you tuesday is going well. I have been sick as you all know so I am still a bit under the weather, but feeling a bit better, just tired.

Today the challenge at Stamping Vacation is for someone who needs prayer. I thought of a variety of cards like a sympathy card, a get well card and an encouragement card. I came up with 2 cards so I want to share them both with you. The first one is with the praying hands that we often see with the serenity prayer. I have had this stamp fr quite some time and cannot even tell you when I got it or where. I have cream cardstock as my base, added a layer of designer paper. I then used my Versamerk watermark ink and stamped the hands and heat embossed it with gold embossing powder. The frame around it was a mistake as the ink got on that and I didn't remove the powder when I embossed it but I like it. The sentiment "you are in my prayers" is from a tiny sentiment set I got from Stamps of Life. I then added a piece of off white with gold ribbon. And you have the finished card.

The next card I did I used the Jabez Prayer stamp from Clear Dollar Stamps. These stamps are great and are very inexpensive, very high quality. Again my base cardstock is cream or white, I took a piece of designer paper and embossed it with my Floral Fantasy embossing folder and my Cuttlebug. I then took a piece of blue paper to layer and stamped the Jabez Prayer on that. For the final touch (you know me the ribbon girl) I added a light blue bow. This prayer is one of my favorites in the Bible and I often pray this daily as I really want the Lord to expand my territories, to put someone in my path who needs to know Jesus so I can tell them of the wonderful things He has done for me! Also to keep me from harm.

Hi Everyone here is a short but quick post.

Thank you Merry from MerryMadeCards for this blog award, hope I do this right as I have terrible computer skills! Also I can claim I have been sick and that should give me a free pass, but the fact is I am just a bit slow actually alot slow in the computer side of things. How I get this blog to work is beyond me, I know it is the grace of God.

Went to the Dr. today and I have a sinus infection. I am on 3 medications and still feel lousy. My hubbie says no art show on Sunday for me as he is afraid that I will feel well and end up in the exact same condition I am currently in.

Three things about me that ou may not know:

1. I am an introvert although people do not believe that about me.

2. I was originaly from Erie, PA

3. I have always wanted brothers and sister and have none, that is why I talk to myself all the time. ( besides that I know I am having intelligent conversation? you think??)

Good Evening Everyone,

This will be a short post as I am heading off to bed. This cold I have is really kicking my butt so I need to sleep. Seeing the doctor in the morning!

The card I am featuring today is very sinple and I used my set from Mark's Finest Papers.

I use a basic cream cardstock layered with desighner paper that I embossed using my birds and swirls cuttlebug folder. I then added a piece of blue cardstock and stamped my images from the set with Veramark Watermark ink, heat enbossed the image with gold embossing powder and added a blue bow. It is my thank you, and was very KISS (Keep it Simple Silly).

Hope you are all have a great day and evening. Hope to post tomorrow and will tell you what the doctor said. I have been fighting going to see him, but I have diabetes and kidney issues so my dear husband has insisted that I go. We have government health insurance here but this doctor has treated me and knows my kidney isses and always gives me just what I need.

Are you all staying warm? I understand it is cold in a lot of places in the US and it is here in Mexico too. The area I live in is said to have the second greatest climate in the world. Well it is pretty cold here these days, but you can always pile more on, huh? Anyway I thought I would feature 2 cards for you today and they are both using Mark' Finest Stamps and also the first is using a digi stamp I received from Stamping Dragon Designs.

The first card I used white cardstock as my base added a layer of red burgundy which I stamped the wreath from the flourish set from Mark's Finest, Speedy Cat Collection. Inside the wreath I stamped Merry Christmas a stamp I bought years ago at Walmart. I also used Speedy the cat to sit next to the fireplace. The fireplace is the digi stamp from Stamping Dragone that I colored with Prismacolr pencils, I then added a cream with gold ribbon and bow. I love a warm fire and just looking at this card make me feel warmer.

The second card I used white cardstock again as my base. Some designer paper and the flourish set from Mark's Finest for the wreath and the sentiments you see on the fromt of the card. I punched 2 small holes with a paper punch and added the little black bow. I think this card is clean and simple (which I guess is really my style) but also elegant as it says it all.

November Special Month Challenge

Good Morning Everyone,

I thought I would get my challenge for Stamping Vacation posted bright and early. The month of Novemebr is known for many special things not only Thanksgiving. To find out all the great specialities this month head on over to Stamping Vacation for the list. I picked Avation month. As you can see by my card I took some blue cardstoc and added white stamped clouds. The planes I used are from my Heritage Cricut cartridge. I then used the sentiment "The Sky is the Limit" from Stamps of Life.

I am amazed each month when Denise sends me the list of Special events that are noted for the month as I just think of regular holidays. Again head over to Stamping Vacation and join in on the challenges.

A Spellbinders frame and Happy Birthday

Hi Everyone,

Hope your Monday is going well. I thought I would share a quick card with you before I head out to the tiangies (open market) we get such awesome vegies and fruit there for very little money. It is one of the wonderful things about living here.

The card I am featuring today is made by using a stamp I received from Layers of Color. I followed a blog hop they were doing and won first prize, which was 5 frame stamps! So I used this frame stamp that usually you use with the Spellbindes Dies to make this card. I don't own any Spellbinders Dies so I cut the frame out and added a flower inside the frame and the Happy Birthday Sentiment from Mark's Finest papers.

Inspiration Challenge Stamping Vacation

First of All good evening everyone. Second let me apologize that I have not posted this blog post earlier. My husband's computer was down and we just got it back this evening and all my photos of cards and such are on his computer. I am still trying to figure our my computer!

I just want to tell you what I have been up to today. I went up on the mountain in the poorest area here in Chapal and had the privilege to help prepare and serve breakfast to approx 70 people, mostly kids in that area. It was laid on my friend Stasia's heart to do this and what a rewarding experience! She asked me to make coffee for a few older ladies that were there as they were so cold. I served them the coffee and one of these dear sweet women gave me a hug and kiss. I was so touched. That is what I have found here in Mexico, the kindness of the people is amazing. My husband takes people from a neighboring village to church on Sundays. These people are poor and cannot afford the bus so he gets them in a 15 passenger van, often the van holding 30+ people! Ther is an elderly couple that we saw when we were taking our friends from Florida sightseeing and these people have nothing! The lady invited us into her home to serve us Pastella's ( a sweet treat) We did not go in but the kindness overwhelms me and I fall on my knees and thank God for all He has done for me through just being around these people.

OK to get to the card I made today. Very simple and easy ( that is usually my stype). If you check out the challenges on Stamping Vacation you will notice that it is for an inspirtion and the picture is of an Hawaiian wedding! Well I knw now after making the card and such that I should have added some flowers to accent the flowers in the photo but I got this wonderful set of stamps from Marks Finest and I wanted to use them. I love flourishes and I thought this set with this sentiment was perfect for a wedding card. Sure hope you like it.

I have an art show/fall festival tomorrow so I will post later in the evening as after the show we are going to celebrate the Marine Corps Birthday as my hubbie is a vet. Have a great weekend and I will check with you all tomorrow.

Good Afternoon Everyone,

Well, the weather change is now catching up with me, as the evenings are cooler the days are still warm, but the cooler evenings has brought with it a cold for me. I feel pretty lousy, UGH!! This sneezing and nose blowing is for the birds, I sure wish a little bird would come and take it away. Well, I know that God hears my prayers and those of my friends and loved ones so I know that I will feel better real soon.

Well as I promised I am going to share my Pick 3 Challenge card from Stamping Vacation. The list of things you can pick from are:

As you can see by my card. I picked an image that began with a T. This image is from Cardmadfairy Designs. I used an orange ribbon and a button. I also used a corner puch that rounded the corners so I don't think that counted, and my image is mounted iwth foam tape on green paper. I don't think the foam tape counted either but I can't get pop dots here in Mexico. I ran my green paper through my cuttlebug using my swiss dots embossing folder. I colored the leaves and little berries on the tree with glitter gel pens and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I used some orange ribbon that I received from Laurel Sherry from Cowtown Stamps. The button I had in a stash in my desk drawer. Butterfly afluttering

Good Evening Everyone,

I am now 2 hours behind my friends in the States on Eastern Time as we here in Mexico turned our clocks back early this morning. Oh that extra hour of sleep NOT! Oh well, I wanted to be able to be up and enjoy the glorious sunshine anyway.

The card I am featuring today is using a butterfly image from Cardmadfairyimages. I colored this butterfly using my gel glitter pens then while they were still wet heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. I used my Marth Stewart buterfly border punch and a little touchof pink ribbon with a bow. As you can see the base of the card is blue cardstock. I am a real butterfly nut and love to watch them flutter from flower to flower. A truly beautiful sight of nature.

Man's Birthday Card

Good Afternoon Everyone,

Hope your Saturday is going well. I have been very busy in the studio making cards for an upcoming show. Mainly Christmas cards, but I thought I would take a break from those and show you a cute little Dodge Car Birthday card I made using an image from Staming Dragon Designs.

As you can see the car is mounted on Designer Paper with my dimensional tape. I colored the car using my Prismacolor Markers and my Bic Permaqnent Markers. I added a pieceof ribbon and the Happy Birthday stamp. I think any man would love to have this card. I know my husband would as he used to collect models of old cars before we moved to Mexico.

The Music in You Challenge

Hi Everyone,

The challenge today is from Stamping Vacation called, The Music in You, and the song is Winter Wonderland. I swear when Densie told me the song I was so happy as this is my absolute favorite winter/Christmas song.

When we lived in Florida there was a farm there "Fisher's Farm" and every year they turned their front acerage into a winter wonderland! It was wonderful. I remember when my daughter and little grandson were living with us and we went so he could see all the colored lights. My daughter and I started to sing Winter Wonderland at the same time. Such wonderful memories.

I now live in Mexico and she has just recently moved to Ohio. Sure do miss those times, or the times when my girls were young and lived at home and we went shopping around Christmas Eve at midnight to the local Zayres and then to Perkins for hot chocolate before we came home. One winter we got stuck in a ditch and a snow plow had to pull us out. Both my girls are married with childrenof their own and making memories. Time sure has gone by fast, I am still trying ot catch up or believe that all ths time has gone by.

Well on to the card. I know I am suppose to stamp but I could not resist this wonderful card composition using my Cricut. It really reminds me of a winter wonderland with the church and barn buildings in the background and the sled and horse. Hope that you like it.

April Showers.

Good Morning Everyone,

What a beautiful day here in Chapala. The sun is shining and the temp is in the low 70's. I know it will get a bit colder but I enjoy this weather so much. The rainy season is over and soon the mountains will turn to brown. I miss the changing of the leaves so much, it has been years since I have experienced that! Probably 15 years, sure do miss that as Fall is my favorite season of the year!

The card I am bringing you today is another of the Cardmadfairy images. Her name is April as April showers bring May flowers. She is mounted with dimensional tape on a pale yellow cardstock. I colored her in wih Bic permanent markers and Prismacolor Pencils and of course my gel glitter pens. The raindrops are left over snibbles (as my friend Julie calls them) from another project.

Meet Chloe

Hi All,

Well as I promised, today you will meet Chloe. I think I made a mistake when I told you the website yesterday that you could find these sweet images at. They are featured at Cardmadimages.com. I just love their digi stamps.

I made this little girl as a birthday card.

Supplies used:

As you can see I mounted Cloe after coloring her with the Bic markers, Prismacolor Pencils and Gel glitter pens. I mounted her with dimensional mounting tape. I then glued the ribbon in place and added the crystal hearts. I think she turned out really cute. Please leave a comment and let me know what you think.

Well I have decided that I need to start posting more and get more cards made and shown to all of you. As you all know I am a member of the Stamping Vacation Design Team. All the women on this team are so talented and I am kind of simple compared to all of them as I make vry sinple cards, but I do think before I make anything and love what I do.

Anyhoo, Cardmadfairy provided a number of images for our design team to use and I am finally getting cards made using these wonderful images. Over the next few days I will be posting these cards. Sure hope you enjoy them.

The card I am posting today uses the image of Sophie. I love this little girl as she looks so sweet and like she is having a great time.

Martha Stewart Daisy Border Punch

My card has a creme cardstock base then layered with a kraft cardstock which has been embossed using the Floral Fantast Embossing folder with my Cuttlebug. I placed a piece of pattern paper in the middle of the card. I also used my Marth Stewart border punch. A piece of green ribbon is placed on the pattern paper and Sophe is then colored with Bic Markers, Prismacolor Pencils and gel glitter pens. I then heat embossed the gel pen coloring with clear embossing powder and cut out Sophie and mounted her on the front of the card with foam mounting tape.
